We need to strengthen elsewhere than striker now, surely?

Yes but the discussion here is about strikers

Do we need to strengthen elsewhere in the team? Yes. Should we now end the search for another striker? Imo no.

Within 5 mins of this news breaking by sheer coincidence I had s meeting with the FD of Doncaster Rovers who gave a glowing report of him

Talented boy needs a kick up the bottom from time to time loads of assists and scores the odd worldly a proper Number 10 type of player

Match hardened after a season at Morcambe

Anyway just passing on the info

Welcome Liam 😊

Sounds like he isnt a striker as such. Maybe more like Rowley and Carter position ?

No thanks - live too far away, and an associate director is still a director and has the legal responsibilities (and potential liabilities like imprisonment for serious offences) and that requires a bit more reward than the warmth of being helpful...

I am not down on what they are trying to do now, I am still down from what they have done in the past, and I haven’t forgotten, and won’t whilst the same people are making the big decisions....and I am still in the not a penny more brigade as a result (but away games are ok)

Having Director in your title doesn’t always make you legally responsible under company law. Can’t imagine that our Associate Directors would be deemed to have responsibility. Coe might be an exception. This board seems to accept that the other two have no influence on how the company is run.

Signed from Donny on a 2 year deal.

Hoping I'll get a cut of the fee for reccommending him.Seriously Saw him play for Donny reserves a couple of times at the Proact a few seasons ago he scored a couple of goals and  stood out albeit in a reserve game. Good signing and will get goals at this level.

Anybody know where he actually plays - is he a wide attacking player like a winger or an out and out up top striker?

He played as a striker down the middle against town reserves.

Should you have known or been reasonably expected to have known, I think is the phrase the law uses in determining liability, ignorance is not an excuse. If you attend board meetings, get the papers, can be expected to have known what was going on then you are expected to raise it and stop it - and what the fans think is of no interest. Being held out as a Director would certainly put you in the firing line and I'd rather not have months / years of stress whilst I waited to find out if CPS thought I was a real Director or not...

Would you risk it?

I think it's fair to say that we should give this guy a chance, 4 goals and 8 assists in his last 42 games looks like he has some potential as a number 10.

With regards to mcCallum, Gozie has a similar record and look how that turned out for us...

Shez and Snod are looking at building a squad, with Denton and Boden's form I think a 22 year old with hunger is just the ticket

You seem very down and negative on everything the club seems to be trying to do at the minute. Why don’t you offer your services as an associate director to ensure positive things happen

Come on Ian, you're better than this mate.

We all know why the Ass D's were appointed - infact one bypassed the token selection process altogether.

And solving the real problems at Town is nowhere on their 'To Do' list.

Meanwhile one supporter's supposedly confidential application was publicised as part of an attempt to discredit him.

So given the bloke responsible for this kinda stuff is still around it's no surprise folk are hardly singing and dancing their way down Sheff Road to buy tickets...

So another thread about a new player gets hi-jacked for the usual crew to air their ancient grievances.
It's highly unlikely we'll sell as many ST's as last year after that poor season we've just had, but as always the reason will be football and nothing else. We only sold so many last season because people thought we'd be making a serious challenge for the league.

And back to topic, I rate Mandeville but we've got two similar players already. No problem with having lots of cover, but we still need a serious midfield enforcer, defenders with pace, and a bit of width. That slimmed down squad is starting to look as if it might get corpulent.

Playing at Morecambe wasn't helping his agoraphobia.

Just more trolling, pal.

From the same bloke who insisted no one's interested in off field issues whilst hundreds protested against...

..off field issues.

Meanwhile over on the 'How Many ST's Sold' thread a well respected contributor clearly states he's not renewing for a non football reason...

Perhaps you haven't noticed, but despite the avalanche of people posting on here that they won't be buying season tickets, we always manage to sell a respectable number, usually far in advance of anything you're predicting or hoping for.
The reason for higher or lower numbers is the football and the expectation thereof, 'nowt else at all, try as you might to convince yourself otherwise.
Nice to see another dip into my back-catalogue, mis-quoted and garbled as usual but I'm pleased to see my posts make such an impression. Sadly, I can't return the compliment.

Like the look of Mandeville, why don't we have a thread about him?

I think the fact we've just hit the 1k mark is frightening.
God I hate this league.

And its another season in this dismal league. Can't blame anyone for not rushing to renew.
