Presumably, this means we must have already sold at least 11?

They sound just like Shez’s Words...
Make 11 happy, annoy another 150 or so - good plan. Not how I would build bridges with the fans.

Go on then, enlighten us all on what you would do

They'll have to go on a training course to learn how to make it random.

Well for a start I wouldn’t make it sound so desperately like a ploy to shift season tickets. If you want to build relations with the fans invite them all along, the more the merrier. I probably wouldn’t have put prices up in the first place so I was now forced to desperately try and shift a few more. I would have kept prices constant and trusted that a successful team would get people in...
I probably also wouldn’t have spent a fortune bringing in the manager I wanted and then cut the budget for the squad he has to work with.
Oh, and if I really wanted to shift season tickets I would make it a draw to win a Q&A session with DA, at his casino / greyhound track in Sheffield with transport laid on and a free dinner. And I might have Ashley there too answering questions.... now then there might be more uptake!

I would Imagine that GB would organise this to be done correctly and fairly given what has happened in the past.
GB IMO is doing his best under tight constraints to try and build bridges but some fans seem content to knock everything he does.
If any fans doubt GB is a potential good thing for the club then email him and ask to meet him or speak to him and form your own opinion and don’t tar him with Cashley.
If GB was to quit that would leave us with Cashley making all the decisions again

You were doing ok until the last sentence... GB can tinker round the edges but only one person makes big decisions...

It was a joke. Nowt to do with Graham, who I have met.
Are you suggesting that the time has come to stop ridiculing Carson?. That's a big call and not summat I'd subscribe to.

Not at all, Carson deserves everything he gets from fans, I despise the man for what he has done to this club and can’t wait for the day I hear he has gone. I don’t get drunk these days but will make an exception for Carson’s departure

Re. Graham Bean, the piece promoting the event and this thread made absolutely no reference to him until you mentioned him!

Although to be fair, I don’t see him as the messiah some do - have had limited interaction with him, but on the one topic I did, he told me I was wrong and they had done nothing wrong, and then a few weeks later when forced I got a letter outlining all the things that were wrong and needed addressing... heart in right place, probably. Footballing knowledge, certainly. CEO material? Nowhere that I have ever worked...

If there are 150 people who get annoyed about exercises like this I hope I never have the misfortune to meet any of them.
I think you might be an accountant - know the cost of everything and the value of nothing. Your criticism of Graham Bean for going into the 'Supporters Bar' and putting his hand in his pocket took just the same cost-benefit approach. Sometimes the gesture is worth far more than can ever appear on the balance sheet.

I am an accountant. I am a board director. I run a business. I’ve run my own business. I think I am ok at business and valuable gestures. But thanks for your really helpful advice..
Edit: and I seem to recall my problem with that gesture was that it, and the cheaper beer, and the cheap stock clearance, was aimed at people who didn’t actually have to go and watch the game as opposed to those who were parting with their hard earned... a goodwill gesture for those who don’t buy your product is one way of running a business, but not my way...

I don’t think it’s a conspiracy theory, it’s clearly an attempt to drum up some trade in season tickets in the last 4 weeks before the deadline. But it just smacks of giving something that should be done with all fans pre season, building a relationship with those people who both spend their money and can talk others into coming.
If you want to do a prize then something beyond the “norm” - like having a chat with DA. Now that would be something special...

Given your hide behind the keyboard approach I don't think you have to be overly concerned about meeting anybody.

I don't think that would be good enough to tempt anybody to part with £200+ do you?
