Yes, its pointless and makes recovery harder. This League has a reputation for unsympathetic and swingeing punishment; Barrow had a shark of an owner in the late 90's, and in January 1999 the club were the subject of a compulsory winding up order. Most of the players had fled but somehow they avoided the bottom 2. The league relegated them anyway.
Crueller still in a way was one heard of when I was in Horden in County Durham during the Strike. The village and the club - Horden CW - were on the bones of its +rse, there was nowt coming in apart from tiny amounts of gate money and they had their phone cut off. So of course the Northern League fined them for not having a phone.

My first game was Pompey v Charlton Athletic in Div 1 with an aunt and uncle.
My second was Gateshead v Hartlepools United in Div 3N at Redeugh Park with my grandfather.
In those days, the North East had Pools, Gateshead and Darlington as League clubs.

All those nippers in Small Heath who offer to "look after" your jam jar for you whilst you're in the football, could be on double bubble next season. 😉

Good, hope they bounce back soon.
Newcastle supporting Gateshead folk, hang your head in shame.
