I have been sent details from the liquidator's latest report into the CFC FDS debacle. It appears the claim against Chesterfield FC is now in the order of £138,982. That sum is made up as follows:
Player wages: £14,704.
Other wages: £74,998
Training pitch use: £14,000
First-team player accomodation: £35,280.
I almost feel the urge to write the "other wages" one out in longhand, in the style of the football teleprinter. Who the chuff did they pay that to, if not players?
The liquidator has entered into an agreement with a business support company to recover the debt. For a payment of £2000 towards the liquidator's expenses, they get 50% of whatever they recover from the club. That company have engaged solicitors to pursue the claim, and they have been in contact with the club.
The club appears to be ignoring it, perhaps, in the hope that it'll go away: the liquidator observes that "No substantive or satisfactory response to the claim has been received to date and the matter is ongoing."
It's nice to be able to Trust again.
