There is no excusing what happened. But as a general point the time wasting, which started in the first half, contributed to creating increased edginess around the ground. If the referee had booked the keeper for time wasting at the beginning of the second half I doubt things would have got out of hand. Any authority the referee had drained away throughout the second half until it was non existent. I don’t understand why more bookings aren’t given for time wasting. It seems ironic that our keeper got sent off and theirs was still on the pitch at the end of the game despite persistent offending.

You can almost understand it when people get over excited and end up with a foot on the grass and realise they’re in the wrong and they clear off.

To get involved with players, to be over that white line consciously and aggressively is idiotic.

I see this as far, far worse than what happened the other week personally.

Why do you continue to make excuses for morons who are damaging our club?

I agree, the club's expected defence that the circumstances were exceptional has been undermined

great post and fully agree. I also think that the footballing authorities should introduce yellow cards to players who celebrate goals at the opposition fans. a few years back they introduced instant yellows for taking off shirts, yet its ok to goad opposition fans when scoring against their team, we've seen it several times this season and twice today, I know some of these clubs hardly have any fans but go and celebrate in front of them.

Opposition time wasting caused increased edginess and the pitch invasion? Bo//ock$!

You can't blame time wasting or a poor referee for people jumping the boards and getting in the face of opposition players. Otherwise it would have happened every week, according to all the angry posts that's written on those subjects here after every game.

There's only one reason it happened; people chose to do it.

Maybe they should look inwards and think for a minute... if I can't control myself, stay in my seat and just watch a game of football, should I really be there?

There can be no excuse for Ashley Billyeald's encroachment on the pitch or his subsequent behaviour today.

All this follows on from a number of previous incidents he's been involved in.

A lengthy ban by the club and a police prosecution are the only likely outcome and hopefully he may have the opportunity then to take a good look at himself and grow up !

If we go down due to a points deduction he might need to do more than grow up.

There is celebrating and celebrating.

Some 4000 people celebrated by cheering and shouting support.

Some idiots celebrated by invading the pitch, throwing a bottle, and grappling with players.

Don't let's even try to offer excuses for people that don't seem to know how to behave as there is no excuse for them.

Read my posts before that. Even more so. Read my reply to Me M.

Why would it be? The club will rightly be very worried and will strive to show how they've taken action to prevent a recurrence.

I'd be netting off rows 1 & 2 for now and employing half a dozen big units to demonstrate our intentions.

A few hired heavies would do the trick (I’m sure the club management still have a few telephone numbers) but the netting wouldn’t have worked as everyone gathers at hoardings in the last 10 minutes. I can see that being stopped
