It was a joke dear boy, tying in your posts on the "eastleigh saturday" thread stating you'd found some decent ale (i defiantly disagree with your assesment of the ale in the 2 pubs mentioned).
Heres my list of teams that on the day have been miles better than us:- Gateshead Sutton (pitch?) with you having uninterrupted vision can you add to it?
Or are all teams crap and directionless?

Also concider, in the good not so old days if you took Morsy Ryan and Lester out of the team we may have struggled. Well (this is no comparison of the players) the same could be said for Wedgebury, Carter and Hines. Hines was a big miss yesterday, they struggled with JBW, LA running at their left back area ZH would have had a field day.
What was your opinion of the first minute two footed challange, the one a bit like JBWs at Barrow?

Don't understand this regular reference to Westbury.

Westbury hardly started a game as other players were chosen ahead of him and he played little or no part in the three league wins early in the season.

Hines scored three goals early on and failed since.

Carter looked like a good signing but, then again, only scored in one game.

Ah, so we are just very unlucky!

I would find it very difficult to put an argument forward to suggest that we are lucky. So not wanting to deprive you of a little preaching, I'll say we are unlucky. Of you go!!!

Wedgebury was clearly regaining fitness at the start of the season as could be seen from his performance as "A N Other" at Gainsborough. The 3players referred too IMHO would be classed as 'key' players hence the reference to the 3 from the good old days.

I thought it was a decent performance today, a bit scrappy in places but a deserved point. We were lucky with a one on one which went just wide and a sitter they missed 2mins from time. On the other hand Levi missed by inches, Muggs hit the bar and we pushed them back for a long period.
Eastleigh are no mugs, I saw enough to give me hope for a home win on Tuesday. We played good attacking stuff at Billericay, Shaw and Hallam were doing plenty of good movement up front and once again Lee looked very sharp, wish he could get the 1st goal he deserves. We are creating chances we must start taking them now.

Burton==6= good keeper but its a bit worrying he seems to be flapping at a lot of crosses and corners.
Barry- 6- steady return at least Smiffy could move back into midfield.
JBW - 6- aweful 1st half but played really well going forward in the 2nd.
Hollis 9-- LOZ 8- solid as a rock in the centre on a slippy pitch.
Rowley=8= never stopped working showed class a proper skipper's role in the last 2 games.
Smith- 7- gets better with each game.
Weston= 6- decent game but we need a bit more from him.
Denton=6- got no protection from the ref again, laid off some good balls going forward and defended well.
Hallam= 7- took his goal well and looks a very promising signing, quick.
Shaw= 7- looks dangerous running at defenders just needs that elusive 1st goal.
Fans-8- 273 turned up in noisy numbers, were there any home fans?

The unbeaten winless run continues in the league and I honestly feel that a win is not far away and the performances are definetly on the up. We must keep behind Mad dog and the Team, we will soon be rising up the table,

You can add my name to that Dave.
God I hate this league.

Not quite word for word, something along the lines of these players will take us forward. Mine was just more realistic.

The games he did play you could see that he could read the game well and get stuck in, he was motm at Barrow until he got injured. I thought he and Cater were going to be the new Ryan / Morsey midfield duo. MA said that he and Charlie were massive losses.

You’re talking about Wedgbury, right? In the 30 minutes he was on the pitch at Barrow he was stuck out in the right looking like a fish out of water. He was having an absolute stinker and he knew it. He might have turned out to be a good player had he not broken down but he showed no signs of being one at Barrow, admittedly playing out of position.

Did you actually go as lindave did, because you're talking two different games? The radio commentary stressed that the 3 forwards were moving very well but let down by the midfield who were finding the right passes but couldn't quite get the pace right; and it sounded as if we were on top for large parts of the game. Might have been biassed but they usually tell it more or less like it is, and it bore no relation to what you saw.

The first half was clueless from both sides with Eastleigh edging it,, second half was better with both teams actually passing the ball. CFC edged it without creating too much clear cut. Final few minute we did our best to chuck the game way

Two very contrasting views there, aren't they?

I've only been to home games this season but can't recall thinking what a good or bad a player Wedgbury is because he hardly entered the field of play.

That is why I struggle to think he's been a massive loss.

I accept Carter has been a miss but, again, I need to see him in more games than I have to judge his consistency. True he had a good game in the one in which he scored two but in some other matches he didn't get involved enough for me.

You must have been pizzed up he was as solid as a rock. He did one crunching tackle stopping them breaking through, 3 mins later his horrible injury occurred. It wasn't the JBW sending off that lost us the game, but the injury which weakened our midfield, MA said the same at Dronfield the other week when we spoke to him at ht.

So why hasn't he replaced him? Or is Smith the new midfield gaffer?!

Had to laugh at the "new Ryan Morsy duo". Not that Carter (decent player in there possibly) is anything like either of them. Why on earth would Martin Allen want players like them? He doesn't do midfield 😀

Better ask mad dog, but I'm pleased with how Smiffy is progressing after a dodgy first couple of games.
