I'm not gonna pretend to know this starting line-up - most of Town's current squad could pass me in Aldi and I wouldn't know 'em from Adam (are any actually called Adam, by the way?) - but the simple ability to read reveals there's zero consistency in team selection.

Meanwhile players I've seen transfer listed play whilst Allen's own signings are axed.

My one game this season - Salford - was nowt special by any stretch of the imagination, but there was little between Town and the bookies' pre-season favourites.

However this season has since continued where the previous two left off...

Salford was amazing compared to the last Five home games, consider yourself lucky.

There was little between CFC and the daggers either,and they were the bookies favourites for relegation.


Make no mistake, this team makes the worst of the Macmenemy side, where we languished at the foot of the basement division, look like a Paul Cook side.

It’s a side utterly lacking any quality and survival is our aim this season.

I disagree with you. He hasn’t been disappointing “to some extent”, he’s been completely disappointing in every sense. Of course we are where we are because of the two muppets but Allen says he’s been backed financially at every turn by his older namesake. He chose the team, he organises their training, he sets out the tactics for each game. He fails on all counts. Who can argue with that?

You've mentioned the key word - quality.

Player sales and exits saw quality leave to be replaced by lesser talent. Then more sales, more exits and still less talent. So on and so on.

I'm not gonna make a h-ypocrite of myself here (see what I did there?) because I believed Allen was the poor man's Pulis, yet this summer saw nobodies arrive from nowhere.

Certainly no quality.

The standard of football has since gone the same way and will continue to do so until quality arrives.

If there's still a CFC left by then, of course...
