We matched a championship team not only scoreline but fitness wise.
I enjoyed watching us play tonight.

Only a friendly but still good to hear. What did you make of the new players?

It’s an odd situation.

Given Tommy’s popularity, I’d have though he would get 5000 easy, kickoff time, holidays, whatever.

Pre season games/testimonials will never be well attended. If this had just been us v Wigan I doubt 1000 would have turned up.

Zavon Hines was like a new player, played really well.

I know I was being sarcastic. He said it was basically a sure thing.

Agreed. Like I always say, any odds are only good odds if you win

That's good news as I wouldn't want the old one back.

I think it'd be easier to point out who was disappointing tonight.

None of them.

Disagree, attendances at home friendlies are fairly consistent typically 2,200 in recent years

If say Wednesday United Forest or Derby had been tonights opponents there would probably have been 1500 in the away end pushing the attendance to 4200+

How much did you win?

I didn’t have a bet on it. At face value you would say most testimonials would be full of goals but then with this one you had to factor in it and as Our only decent per season friendly and the testimonial was for a keeper. Didn’t think cocky would want to put a hatful past him. When it was 1-1 I was kicking myself. I still found other bets to replace this one, to lose my money on

Carter and Weston both look good but I can't believe the improvement in JBW, if he lost a stone he would be rapid. All in all a great result from the lads who really worked hard in a rather warm stadium. One question though was it Sam Wedgebury with those huge throws, only I though it was supposed to be Sam Muggleton ? Very happy with what iv'e seen tonight.

It was certainly Muggleton, could you not tell? Wedgebury is he of the high shorts. They are the highest pair of shorts since Lee Cattermole was swallowed up by his.

All seem to have a team spirit they massed together before the game and applauded the fans they played like a unit all round good performance if I was picking one Carter motm but wouldn't argue with anyone's choice.

On that I fully agree.

The players are still gelling. Shaw not fully fit yet but could be a right menace when he is. Hines's trickery and ball control very good and he was possibly MoM. Jalal might be carrying an injury and Carter seemed to have is ankle bandaged up when he came on for Tommy's little speech.

It was only a friendly but their was a bit of fire in the bellies of players on both sides. More importantly I thought we might have a squad, not just a team, that are together and will not be bullied.

MA might be worth the entrance price himself - quite entertaining.
