Mr. Chester was on the board at Lincoln between January and March, 2002, as they lurched towards administration. I am told he was also there as long ago as the 1970s. Brealey was at Lincoln between August 1975 and December 1977. Are the two acquainted?

I think you may have answered your own question there. If, and its a big if, the new owners demonstrate they are in it for all the right reasons then who knows....

Probably not in it for the long haul. Buy cheap and move it on. Only works if we get promoted. Potentially dangerous if that doesn't happen. Who knows they may see it as a viable business if run properly.

I was gonna renew on Thursday, I’m extremely dubious about doing so now though.

I'll come back when I trust those in charge of running the club, not ruining it.

This all sounds very concerning reading on here but i'd go back. Afterall they haven't yet done anything to turn me against them at CFC.. :ninja:

Sounds very much like these have no money at all so they'll probably need too the support they can get from the fans etc

Is it just the cynic in me that thinks this leak on the day the FA fine is announced is very convenient to get people to focus on something else...???

They usually try and bury bad news, but in this case most people seem to think this is worse news than the news you think they're trying to bury.

I'd rather see what their intentions and actions are before I condemn them out of hand

He was given nine months for perverting the course of justice in 1998. Yorkshire Post: "Kenworthy had been out for a night at Owlerton dog track with a friend in 1988 but on his way home had crashed after going through a red light on Penistone Road in Sheffield. To compound his error, he drove away and later claimed his vehicle had been stolen. He was found guilty at Sheffield Crown Court of perverting the course of justice and not stopping after an accident.

but how much of that can we believe when his company was dissolved 3 months ago without seemingly ever trading ?

True, but perhaps it does tell us his aspirations and ideal business model.

I might be becoming cynical but does anyone else have a feeling like this won’t go through?

In a further act of cynicism, am I wrong in thinking there’s a possible attempt to create a ‘close shave’ and make fans grateful for what they’ve got.

Well the last words I heard from DA were along the lines of , 'I won't sell while we are in the National League '. So whats changed his mind ? Did he get a dirty look from a fan ? Or has the wind changed direction ? For what it's worth I believe the 'suits' that came round to the Proact to have a look at the potential. They must have thought , this place should not be in the National League. Had a look at past season ticket sales which is exceptional given the circumstances, and thought It is just a succession of bad managers and they think that we will soon be back in the football league. Buy it now cheap, wait and sell for more in Div.2.

I think the season ticket sales are due in no small part to Martin Allen. If it goes ahead they’d be crazy to upset him, interfere or try to ostracise him

Okay, this is a rumour which has been circulating for a week or two (oh, and for the benefit of our resident screenshotter that's all it is - just unsubstantiated gossip).

A takeover is imminent by a group associated with Reg Brealey. The price is three million though it's not clear where that'd leave debenture payments, the AS Leisure mortgage, unsecured loans or ground ownership. Both Allen and Carson would then be out.

But that's where things get kinda weird.

The story also suggests Allen is loaning Brealey the money to buy Town - the same Brealey he pretty much dubbed skint a couple of months ago. Why? Why expose himself when relatively risk free deals are surely possible? Is it the Lee/Brown thing again where the vendor regains the whole job lot should payments be missed? Or is the stadium being split from the football club in a similar way Haslam did to our little neighbours?

Not for the first time things just didn't add up.

Worse still I was told of an insistence Steve Coe join the Board. Yet, again, why? Why would Dave Allen demand a position for a small time sponsor like him? To become some sort of 'new' Carson, maybe? So why not leave his long-term colleague in situ if that's the case? And might some view this a puppet regime anyway?

Bizarre.

Then of course there's the fact our Irish folk duo stated there'd be no sale whilst CFC was non-league - so what's changed? Why such a hasty U-turn after supposedly backing the Manager? After bombastically declaring 'I don't do failure'? Especially given such a paltry FA fine. Did they expect thousands more season ticket sales or summat? A queue of sponsors to miraculously appear?

For what it's worth I didn't believe a word of it. But now? Well I'll let folk judge for themselves if any of my tittle-tattle dovetails with today's revelations or is complete cow dung...

Does that mean you won't be getting a season ticket then Chris even tho Allen & Carson have left?😉

AC informs me the deal includes the ground but DA will have first charge on the stadium until he gets his money and the deal would leave the club debt free
