We’ve beaten once decent side, let’s just settle down a bit

I won't, if it's all the same with you. I spend a good proportion of my life 'settled down; it's known as life in an office.

I wasn't born last time we won it (only just, mind but nevertheless I didn't exist). And I'll get B****Y excited if I want to :P

And .... I have bit of a crush on Mr Southgate, too

Whatever happens tonight and at the weekend, give him a long contract and give him the chance to build the framework for a long period of success

I’m all for free speech but anyone using a photo of Saunders as an avatar needs locking up with Grossberger.

If there is one person who has proven me wrong this World Cup, it is Southgate. When he was appointed I thought him just another yes-man, safe pair of hands but he has done pretty much everything right, with dignity.
These go to eleven.

I wouldn't go that far, he's a genuine decent man..but he's not up to the job at the top level, so I think you're being harsh!

Which is exactly what the FA wanted after the dodgy appointments of yesteryear.

Not sure if he's up to the job or not, but he's become a victim of all the hype that's surrounded us! We are an average team and have done well to go this far, but that was on the back of the right side of the draw as we'd have been knocked out long ago if we'd been in the other half. Best team won, simples!

Of course he doesn't, it's tongue in check, but at the same time let's not laud it over him like he's the next messiah, he's not up to it at this level, and neither are the team, it's been a great ride but we're still a long way off being a real competitor at World level, on a regular basis.

The repost of someone who can't argue differently. I was gutted in 1990 because that team would probably have won the World Cup..this time it was a ride, and for the younger generation a new experience. Age has made me bitter.

Painful as it is right now, he does have a point! We rode our luck far more that I've ever know it this world cup and we still got well beaten in the end.
