Sure there was at first, one still pursued when Cook replaced Sheridan. But then I think it was just a case of an arrogant old man refusing to admit being wrong, surrounding himself with folk who wouldn't challenge that opinion - to the point of forcing out those that might, then buying their fan-blaming excuses as they continued sending his money down the pan.
Or into their bank accounts, some might suggest.
Daft thing is if he'd only listened to what 'BB' members were saying three, possibly four years ago things coulda been so much different...

Why engineer (deliberately) our demise?
I suppose the question could be asked has the club been run in such a way to indicate the owner dislikes putting his hand in his pocket to finance it?

Totally agree - I've come to the conclusion it is just all down to a deceitful pig igonorant Yorkshireman thinking he knows best and ignoring the facts, the major fact being that he is clueless in football matters and judging peoples characters
But I wish people who hold the conspiracy theories actually back it up with some believable conspiracies

Getting relegated to the national league has forced Dave Allen to take action so that he doesn't lose all of the money he has put into the club.
There is no great plan, no under hand dealings, no laundry being done, just sheer bloody mindiness, arrogance and incompetence. It's his way or the high way. Of course this is all my opinion

No underhand dealings?
Well I've no evidence to support my view - other than the FA investigations and other proven corruption - but it just seems to me that when ever this crew have a choice to do things the right or the wrong way it's always the wrong way.
Infact the sneaky, snidey and yeah, underhand way.
Otherwise why is every exit reported alongside stories of non-disclosure agreements?

Same answer I gave before. On several occasions Azul.
A spiteful old man. See how you get on without me then, if you lot know best. Engineered to hamper anyone trying to “get on without him”

There’s no doubt about that but hardly a reason to engineer failure, that’s more a response to his own failure and the associated criticism it brought.
Looks like we have all given up trying to work out his “end game’, me included, there just isn’t one.

Has the game been about a slick, efficient and professional business which has ensured profitability and debt reduction?
For such a prickly character it surprises me why David has tolerated continued failure at Chesterfield when it comes to the numbers.
Regardless of what the end game is, I think we can all agree that a well run business would have resulted in less of a reliance on David Allen and his financing.

You’re right the laundry isn’t being done it’s all been pushed into a dirty basket in the back of the cupboard. One day it will all come out to be washed and dried in public. We will never get to know half of the shanaagins that’s gone off, we may get to know next to nowt under current ownership but ranks will break somewhere along the line. Someone will say something, somebody doesn’t like and they will respond and all hell will let loose

I agree with nearly every word except for the underhand dealing bit. As is common with several football clubs, shaky deals , jobs for the boys, sly and underhand is common. Why our owner has allowed this to continue to the detriment of the club and his value is a mystery unless he accepts it's part of the nature of football club dealings.
