Was told at Leicester he made them train in there undyes once

Guess in a few years when one or two of the players fall upon hard times the board can expect a few claims for compensation in the post

Main thing isn't the ability of the next manager. It's more important that he is squeaky clean like Steve Evans imo.

Not quite it was a matter allegedly involving Curle and a young player..but thats convinced me he's not the man for us.

Law did well with Alfreton when they were full time. Alfretons fall out of the NL appeared to have been as a result of them returning to part time.

What I remember of Alfretons good spell in the Conference the chairman threw a lot of money at the club with league players who were on the way down signing for them because of the wages being paid

When the attendances did not match the chairmans ambitions however the plug was pulled and wages went back to more realistic levels so the better players soon left

As I am typing this possibly apart from the wages difference is there another local club where a similar scenario has occoured? :windup

Why, it’s like saying in 10 years you’d be happy to have Carson and Bransotn back etc. Law was part of the set up that nearly lost us our club altogether, sorry but I’m not like you, you forgive and forget all you want

I’m talking about the quality and integrity of the man not his position.

Martin Allen would be my choice to try and bring us back.

Whilst Evo comes across he has club at heart, we need someone who’s been there done it and worn the t-shirt

Agreed.

Jim did the right thing. Credit to him for that. But I am talking about the position of manager, which is what this thread is about. Law acted under the influence of paymaster Brown. Do you think Beckett would have signed 2 contracts if Hubbard had been running the club with Law as manager? Maybe managers sometimes quit clubs on principle but I’d guess it’s rare. More often they do what they are told with little criticism of their bosses, who own the club. Recently we have had Saunders, Caldwell and Lester leave the club with no criticism of Allen and co during or since their tenures.
