Here's the problem any incoming manager will have: unless the budget is increased it's almost totally consumed by players currently under contract.

In that case, it's no longer worth bothering, is it??. Someone should point this out to Dave Allen in no uncertain terms: We will be relegated again unless something is done. I have a contact who spoke to Salford's scout who was there yesterday. He said the majority of Chesterfield's players would struggle in the conference - including the two centre backs, they were borderline at best - not my word, his.

Yep, my brain is struggling to deal with this...chuck in Havant and Waterlooville, anall. Boreham Wood? Harrogate Town? Brackley Town? Hemel Hempstead? Chorley? All possibilities...wtf! Maybe a first round FA cup tie but not ever a league fixture, none of them, ever!

This is the reality of our demise under the ownership of Dave Allen. He's actually happy to let us die..
And, it seems to me, he's offering a million pound budget, because he has to...because players are under contract and have to be paid; or he eventually liquidates us (the final solution).

He took on the club; if he can't handle it any longer, he NEEDS to sell it at a reasonable price to DECENT investors. From every conceivable angle, it really is shameful behaviour.

Well I guess folk have two choices. Applaud A.C. for his candour, as I'm happy to do, or wonder if the negative scenario being portrayed has not only forced Jack out but might panic concerned observers into a pre-emptive takeover bid.

You would hope, but 80% of a share of the third-highest budget in League Two is probably still good money, in the National League.
It's nice to be able to Trust again.

I didn’t look at this (the Rochdale goals) when we signed COG, but presumably Caldwell and Carson were relying on the fact that the striker would be a prolific as he appears.
Trouble is that the video was a compilation from over six years ago back then. Interesting that, unless I blinked, I can’t see one headed goal.

In fact, he looked at the time more a Dennis type player than a target man. He was certainly a lot more mobile than now.

Yeah, I can’t image be CO walked away without what he thought was good for him. How many months were left on his contract?

Surely Tommy's was done through insurance? And we'd have be GIVEN some money due to the player having to retire early (if insured).

Nobody would want O'grady with the wages he was on so I supoose if we've paid him 50% of his contract we' saved money and he'll be able to hoodwink another club

He only appeared in the opposition penalty box a few times all season, mainly receiving the ball with his back to goal about 30 yards out, sticking his arris out and passing to an opponent. He has had a bad back though 😀 so maybe a crock signed by Caldwell on inflated money

At least they are young lads who have their careers in front of them. McGuire has sutors in Fylde so surely not complete no hopers. What are you saying here Ernie.

As he/she said "pairing" he/she probably means they aren't strong enough as a pairing.

I've heard O'Grady has accepted a 50k payoff at the end of the season to walk

Shouldn't be too difficult for him as he's been walking all season.
These go to eleven.

Payoff denied by Carson last night, for what that is worth. It would be a good deal if true though

Surely he would know that by Jack and now Evo not picking him to play, that he is not wanted and will actively look for a way out.

More than £50k will be required as settlement or he can choose to carry on next season.
