I know the local media do a sterling job reporting on the playing side of the club, but now they have to be brave. I know Graham from the DT said "don't thing we aren't looking", and I believe him, I also know they have to be careful with what they print/say but the genuine fans now need assistance. It's very difficult because we had the likes of Biggs at Radio Sheffield giving air time and temporary credibility to Sutcliffe and Turners enterprise, so it's not easily done, but the likes of Peak, the DT, and Chesterfield Post really do need to start carrying the gauntlet with us, forget Radio Sheffield, they couldn't give a toss. Also John Croot and Mike Warner need to get involved or sadly, for two genuine town fans, be linked with the happenings at Sheffield Road.

I can understand professional reporters being reticent about taking the plunge to get involved in a scoop when either one of the parties refuses to participate or when there's no way of corroborating an allegation.

However, in April 2017 Carson publicly admitted that CFC staff had been paid by another company, handing them a story on a plate. There are possible ramifications with the FA/EFL/Inland Revenue/NI/CFC accounts/CFC Directors/Shareholders/Supporters. A cynic might wrongly conclude that he went public on purpose to drop somebody in it from a great height.
Carson is still pondering how to answer the question 'who authorised it?' and neither Carson, Warner, or Croot have remotely considered leaning on the old 'it's a fair cop Guv, come and investigate' angle which would surely be the required action of any Director under the 2006 Act.

I am honestly confused about why this isn't a newsworthy story.

We need to keep a close eye on this, otherwise it could end up lost like Liam's laptop...

In a way I hope it comes out once the season has finished. Don’t want any more ammunition for the FL to sanction us

Yep.
It sort of implies that Carson controlled both accounts for many years, even though he insisted he only knew about the false foreign trip 'cos his friendly bank manager had let him have a sneaky peek at the bank statements.

We knew this already actually as he has latterly started talking about 'contra' accounting.

Makes you realise why we’ve not heard anything about an FA investigation. They’re probably looking at all this and thinking “where the hell do we start?”

Hopefully starting by handing it all over to the old bill.

Sutcliffe seems to be showing more cooperation to the liquidator than the club is, which would be a sorry state of affairs.

So after an initial viewing.

1. The accounts kept by Turner and Sutcliffe were so incomplete it's impossible to discern who had what, from who, and when. Perhaps that was the intention all along. As for the electronic records, has the Liquidator spoken to Steve Coe? A self confessed 'partner' to Sutcliffe who donated computers and, unless I'm mistaken, said he 'helped out' with accounting software?

2. These documents confirm, beyond any shadow of a doubt, that CFCFDS and CFC were inextricably linked on many levels. Which totally contradicts what supporters were repeatedly told by Club representatives and those associated with this enterprise.

3. The Chesterfield FC with 'nothing to hide' appear reluctant to assist the Liquidator. To the point he's been forced to appoint a solicitor to pursue various issues.

4. 'There is evidence of payments for a flat in Holymoorside' - could this be the same flat that Paul Cook occupied or is that merely coincidence?

5. Virtually every allegation made by former employees is validated in one way or another.

6. It would look like madness for Ashley Carson to offer tens of thousands of pounds in loans to such a chaotic and, by that juncture disreputable operation.

Okay, I'm not too well versed in legalese so maybe I've leapt to some wrong conclusions. So could those better versed point out where I'm mistaken?

The CFCFDS accounts must be on Carson's computer. I think he could tell us tonight whether all the allegations are true. There is at least one which is more serious than the player payments but which has never been aired.

Dave - can you remind me what the response to questions over this report was at the AGM?

Are there now any legal ramifications if no reference to what could amount to a six figure claim was made in the accounts?

Is the alleged investment in this shady enterprise by AC showing as a creditor or was this repaid early thus making AC a preferential creditor?

Evening
I may need help from fellow shareholders.
I think the Chairman said that as there is an ongoing investigation then it was right that there should be no mention in the accounts.

I'm just reading the bit about grants to the CFC Academy. The report says that in spite of grants being received, Academy employees were paid by the DS. No wonder Ashley has put an expert onto running it.
