Root out of his depth as captain?

Nope, don’t think so. Just one of those one off collapses that sides have now and again. Not long ago we did it to the Aussies at Trent bridge, we skittled NZ for not many more a few years ago as well. More concerned that we keep picking 4 very similar bowlers if they select Overton and Woakes as the chant seamers. Need something different be it extra pace or just a left armed.

You need to have a debate with "Barking Bob Willis"

As he said they can't play spin (even in the West Indies, let alone the sub continent), they can't play pace (in Australia) and now they can't play swing (in a late NZ summer)

Yet it always comes up that England shouldn't be playing the weaker nations in English conditions

Disgraceful surrender. No excuses after the Ashes debacle.

Apparently Collingwood and Ramprakash have cleared off to the West Indies for these North v South games (where Critchley smashed 60-odd off not many balls) rather than stay and advise/assist with the Test team. Madness.

I always thought Ramprakash was good on 'Strictly Come Dancing' but I here both him and Collingwood will be featuring on ITV's "Skating On Thin Ice"

player has admitted it. smith the capt has admitted the 'leadership group' hatched the plan. leadership group is app senior players not the hierarchy.
smith seemed more upset at getting caught rather than doing the actual deed.

Smith must be incredibly stupid. Firstly for thinking it would go unnoticed and secondly for thinking he can admit it without further ramifications.

That David Warner is the most odious man in cricket, shows his calibre when picking on Root years ago!

Little bit of me has some sympathy for Bancroft. Situation stinks of the experienced players cooking up the plan and lining the new lad up for the fall knowing he is unlikely to stand up to the older heads as he’s looking to make a career on test cricket.

If Smith isn't sacked as captain by Cricket Australia I'll be very surprised. I would think Warner & Lehmann (who's due to quit soon anyway) will be out on their ears as well.

I see Micheal Vaughan has tweeted hoping that Steve Smith and Cameron Ban rift learn from this and come back stronger because deep down he thinks they're both decent guys, but no mention of the odious Warner or the Coach Lehmann which I think speaks volumes. It looks like those two are the ones who've dragged the Austrian team into the gutter these last few years.

Seems our division will be 11 teams this season as Allestree have dumped their first team. Means we’ll finish the season two weeks before everyone else as they were put last game plus the weekend before we have to move the fixture due to football taking priority at ashover in September. Means for me I’ll Not play for a month after the end of July, no game first week of August then miss next three as I’m on holiday then back for that final game first week of September.

Vaughan has actually said he'd be astounded if Lehmann had any knowledge of what was going down.

They spent time together at Yorkshire and says he's not that sort of guy.

Yeah Lehmann is an Aussie and has to shoulder large part of the blame for the odious culture that has befell the current squad, but I don't think for one minute that DL would condone cheating or ball tampering.
Mug?? Being wrong never gets boring!
