Thats why i never went last year. Would only go for headliners now. Can see loadd of bands lower down the bill locally

went to see a band called w h lung in sheff on Saturday.
only been going live 9mths & only have 8 or 9 songs but I put it in my top 3 gigs of the year.

e.g. steve Harley for £15 rather than £30

there are hints of them, the vocalist also has a bit of david byrne about him.
they call it psych rock which is a new tag for the old kraut rock really.
all in all they were B****Y good.

See the association are getting a covers band on the wednesday before xmas. Apparantly wednesdsys are gay night in town too which i never realised

Been gay night for as far as I can remember (20+ years).

Dont think they get many out on a Wednesday nowadays though, although the Beach Bar opens I think.

I think 'they' like an evening to get together in the absence of predominantly gay venues. Might be wrong but that's what I think.

No I don't think they do same as they don't need all these gay pride Marcus. If that's the way someone is fair enough but no need to make a song and dance about it

Yeah. How dare they all get together and celebrate they're no longer persecuted on as huge a scale as they used to.

Bit of a silly thing to say. I put myself in their shoes and I'd love to have a day to celebrate with like-minded individuals.

As you say no longer persecuted ain't been the case for 50 year so no need for these pride things. I've been looking for a straight pride event me a straight night round town.
