We have different perspectives, very normal.
I have no issues with the female game, per se. I would ask anyone on the board if they regularly watch women's league football; if not, why not?

Sampson made ill judged stupid attempts at humour does that make him a racist? To me racism is when you discriminate against somebody because of the colour of their skin I don't think this is the case or maybe I'm as stupid as Sampson for believing that. If in your opinion my view on this makes me a racist then so be it.

We will never know if he's racist but my guess is, if Aluko's family who were coming over from Nigeria to watch her, were white, he would never have made the Ebola comment.

No need for the martyrdom, I'm not saying he's racist nor that you're a racist, I'm pointing out that you initially claimed that Aluko was 'playing the race card because she was dropped' well clearly that's not the case because he made insensitive racially-motivated comments which have now been confirmed by multiple people.
A simple 'yeah, I was wrong' would've sufficed.

I'd just say he made insensitive remarks."Doesn't take much to get people's prejudices showing on this board does it " if that's not an accusation of racism I don't know what is

An accusation of racism would be me saying Rodney, you're a racist. You can be prejudice perhaps unknowingly but that doesn't make you a racist. I'm sure you don't hate people of different colours, that'd make you a racist. I'm quite confident from your attitude as soon as this thread got posted (see 'she played the race card cos she got dropped') that you showed prejudice (or at least ignorance - or both) with that comment - you seemed eager to say it and you jumped to a conclusion instantly which indeed turned out to be demonstrably incorrect. I've done it before.
This live feed that I'm following currently may help you learn more about the prejudice shown (or not) by the manager + the FA: https://www.theguard...stigations-live

I also think she is guilty of being a bit oversensitive. That said, it's almost impossible to say whats behind Sampsons motive for dropping her, and I don't watch womens football so don't know if she deserves a place on merit. But I'd argue IF he did drop her because of a falling out, it would not be over her race per se, but over her response to a crude and thoughtless joke.
Christ, imagine some of the stuff said when Fergie and co let the hairdryer rip!!!
Maybe women would be better suited to women managers. I don't think the often 'coarse' male banter translates so well between the sexes.

I suppose you'll be at the bottom of your gardens snapping the fairies playing around Benedict Cumberbatch tonight.
As has been shown many times in the past being a moderately successful manager does not equate to any abiding ability either to keep your bits appropriately inside your trousers or to switch on the editor in your brain before opening your mouth ........ Glenn Hoddle's quite a nice bloke but he could never see why expressing a belief that disabled people are paying for sins in a previous life upset them, so what hope for Mark Sampson?
I wonder why black footballers don't complain about racism until they haven't all that much to lose?
I wonder why gay footballers never come out?
Read this thread and weep.
How about Colin Jackson and Eniola Aluko as our new management team?
What's that, the deathly sound of white males emptying their baked beans down their dubious tee-shirts?
I missed this post first time round, it's brilliant down to the white males and baked beans comment

Think she was golden boot winner at the time she was dropped which makes me think personally it wasn't owt to do with her performances (and clearly her reaction to a crude and thoughtless joke wouldn't be a valid reason to drop somebody, so if that was the case it'd show Sampson to be a bell end regardless).

Agree. She still took the 80k...
Working in football, I can tell you she wouldn't last five seconds in the male game. Banter/pi$$ take, whatever you want to call it, is rife!
I remember sitting down with a player to discuss his needs and the gaffer walked in and said..you in here again you fat cnut! Maybe you should stop eating so much fried chicken! The player in question is black. He just laughed and called him a pr1ck under his breath.
Golden boot or not, she had a shocking first touch; kind of demonstrates the standard of the women's game.
