There are. But we're probably not looking at smashed in trap doors and sticky dance floors - more likely fire exits and management of risk.

My take and it's just based on the one visit and also from what I was told is the manager is clueless

It appears to be the case. They've got one chance to make it work. Is it open tomorrow?

I think it only opens on event days which does give them time to sort what ever out. So maybe theres a keith lard type jobsworth from phoenix nights on there back. If the council are comeing down heavy on these i suggest they investigate more so called estsblished places which may not have fire risks but have slippy floors and rotten drains

One of my favourite episodes. They ended up having to compensate someone for the likeness to a similarly named individual.

Could just imagine chesterfield bc's version of keith lard at the avenue in the next few days with a high vis jacket and clipboard

Good crowd in for skindred. Talking to a guy who was in charge of security and he said they have plans for a constant 2-3 big shows a month. The halloween theme sure brought some characters out last night. From the various costumes and 2 birds snogging at the bar

Not the type of musi I like but saw a video on twitter and the crowd looked decent for them.

The place has got so much potential

Glad to hear it was busy, hopefully this will encourage them to put on more interesting stuff and not the same tired mod acts they've had so far

Two girls snogging sounds a decent diversion whatever the music.

Interesting doesn't equal ticket sales unfortunately.

id say it was biggest crowd theyd had.
current may be a better word than interesting.
whatever word you use last night was better than the string of tribute acts & greatest hits peddlers heyve had on up to press.

As ssid above far too many new venues in places like chesterfield go for the safe acts, ska, mod, brit pop etc who were never massive years ago and are just nostalgic acts now. Maybe cheaper, maybe more crowd pullers. I aint a die hard skindred fan but glad i went and i am glad this stuff pulled in the punters and hopefully a springboard for similiar acts. Haysee dixe will be intresting
