Presumably you have seen the you tube video of the now 14yo wonder kid Dembele at Celtic?

Funny you bring him up, he is the younger brother of the Grimsby Dembele. They're also distantly related to Kolo and Yaya

Of course. I'm always on the lookout for new promising Dembeles.

Cheers for that, I just spat my coffee all over my keyboard

Had to check we hadn't sold Charlie Wakefield to Chelsea; as at 18.00 last night a Charlie Wakefield was signed on loan by Stevenage from Chelsea.

Did I imagine it or have I read somewhere that Carson's a mate of the Shrews' CEO?

What does Guy Branston do now the transfer windows closed? And he's brought in these players recently?

Interesting to see Exeter, a club owned by the fans, have brought in a striker for a fee, Jayden Stockley from Aberdeen; had previously scored 10 in 22 for Exeter whilst on loan. Meanwhile we sign a couple of currently unwanted defenders.

How times have changed.

Steve Perryman is their Director of football and was interviewed on talk sport a while ago. Really good listen. Tight financial controls and everyone on the same hymn sheet, directors all taking responsibility . They have a good manager as well.
Chesterfield seem to have none of that.

Oh I dunno.

Those recently received bibles mean they'll at least have the hymn sheet...

Football at all levels is largely down to money and how much you prepared to throw away from PSG down to Mansfield at our level. I read this morning that Billericay Town in the Isthmian league want to get into the league and they now have Jermaine Penant, Jamie O'Hara and Paul Konchesky on their books. Some people just have too much money and want a toy.

It was on the sky sports app a few days ago. No player on more than a grand a week but even at that level it's still crazy

Surely the higher paid players would be full time. Looked like the investor was manager/coach aswell

What would they do full time if rest of squad is part time? If the investor is the manager it's like fantasy football for him a real toy

Josh Wright has just left Gillingham. Could improve our midfield- he is currently a free agent.
These go to eleven.

Their chairman/manager personally interviewed approx 20 premier league players pre season and out of all them he chose Pennant (I think there's one other aswell). They don't get paid if they don't play a match, they have got to keep themselves in shape because if they don't then they don't get picked, if they're not picked they don't play, if they don't play.............blah blah blah.
He was interviewed on Talksport the other week. To be fair the bloke sounded like a grade one 💄 but he's got ex premier league millionaires jumping through hoops for him.
Life goes on. Whatever happens.
