Don't have a problem with him getting players he knows and know him. Just interested where Guy Branson fits into to any of this. Is he looking further afield for the longer term?

Fair play for that.
Meanwhile word from the North West is this lad has talent but has suffered fitness issues over recent seasons, hence the limited appearances.
So Cook doing us a favour or having a clear-out?
I say let's judge on what we see of him in a Town shirt.

The two ex Scunthorpe lads came via Branston's former agency, so I guess he was instrumental in their arrival. As for others it's not yet clear.
The way I see it he and the Manager are inextricably linked: both were appointed by Carson, both gave it large about their connections at last season's fans' forum and both should therefore 'live or die' depending upon results.
Especially as this could be 'last chance saloon' for GB given his acrimonious exit from Notts.

Branston was in Stoke this week to watch them against Rochdale. Scouting? not sure.

At 5 foot 7, you have to think Kellet's assets must include looking after the ball, and playing as a wing back. When he joined Wigan, he said he liked playing in a 3-5-2.
Re the number of appearances, apparently he had a serious knee injury at the July 2016 Portugal training camp (that sounds familiar!)
How tall is Leighton Baines and he started at Wigan?
Just saying

Just been told another player in this afternoon on a permanent deal, 'one for the future'.
Plus, a couple of our young 'uns are going out on loan, and one senior player might be leaving.
No names given.

I think we paid a sizeable fee for Novak so you'd imagine we'd had it in writing they wouldn't recall him.
Maybe with Binon-Williams hopefully being back by Xmas we have left an early termination clause in?

53.1.1 subject to the proviso that the duration of a Standard Loan must be the time between two Transfer Windows, Standard Loans can be for half a Season or a full Season;
53.1.2 any recall clause requiring the early termination of a Standard Loan can only be included in a full Season Standard Loan and this can only be activated during the second (January) Transfer Window;
53.1.3 any other early termination of a Standard Loan must be by way of a mutual agreement in writing (including by way of a recall clause within the Standard Loan Agreement) between the Transferor Club, the Transferee Club and the Player but can only be completed:
(a) after the expiry of 28 days; and (b) only during a Transfer Window (but subject to Regulation 53.1.4 below) unless otherwise agreed by the League in its absolute discretion (subject to such conditions as the League deems appropriate);
Seems the recall can be done but only in January and only if its written into the loan agreement. Even then can only be after 28 days, so effectively rules out loaning someone and then taking them back straight away.

I think we are. TBH, I think we have tempted players here who would be comfortable in L1.
I keep saying, it's just a matted of time before it clicks on the pitch. We've seen (well, I've noticed!) passages of play with good passing, movement and a shot on goal.
Kellett on paper is a great signing.

Would rather have 'one for now' but so be it. Who could be leaving permanently??

Let's hope he is.
If we played our best football with a back 4 on Saturday, why might GC revert to a back 3? If it's mainly about players, not formations, and we did better with a back 4, why change it for Newport? A good back 4 should play well against any team imo.
Kellett close but not yet 100% match fit according to GC. If he and Flores both start, I wonder who will drop to the bench.

He will go to 3 at the back again because he is obsessed with the formation.
Reverting to a back 3 tomorrow at Newport will further serve as notice that Caldwell hasn't got a clue. 4 at the back, Flores in midfield...you know it makes sense Gary
