Heard a whisper on Saturday and I'm told it's now been announced on social media that Miguel Llera is joining Town's junior set-up.

After running Sheffield Wednesday's community programme the ex Hillsborough player formed a soccer school of his own bearing a similar name to the much troubled enterprise run by Liam Sutcliffe (http://www.miguellle...lacademy.co.uk/).

Not sure if he's working under, over, in parallel with Mark Smith or is merely offering wider scope to our own hugely successful academy (perhaps someone that 'does' other platforms can supply what's been said thereon).

So someone else making the short trip from S6 to S41? What can possibly go wrong...

I saw someone talking to Mark Smith at the Vale match ( very tall Italian looking bloke), the same bloke was at the Handsworth match at Worksop, we thought he may have been a scout.

Was it this bloke?

Has he taken over Dylan Kerr's role?

Or to Kevin Davies who I understand offered his services to GC a few weeks back. There again I don't suppose Kev would get a look in as he's to close to the supporters & wouldn't fit in with the Sheffield lot.

This is a great 'catch' in my opinion. I've worked with Miguel many times and I hold him in the highest regard. His coaching style is very proactive, and he can be extremely demanding.

positive news though, in the sense that funds are available to invest in his services? Who'd have thought it, only a few short months since Ashley was threatening to make sweeping cuts?

Was with Kevin a while ago and mentioned that a few of us had contacted the club with a view to offering specialist services but not had a reply- I would imagine the same for him

SKD offered his services to both AC and RH (whilst he was caretaker-manager) and wasn't taken up on his offer.

Interestingly, though, the story re-appeared last week in the local press, at who's request I don't know.

One might wonder if it was meant to apply a little public pressure from those above to the manager (who then strangely came out and justified his latest back room addition, just before he's rumoured to have had a bust-up with another member)

Hugely successful....not a single player on the pitch started the game?

May be the owners are making the club look like an attractive purchase for potential buyers. Speculate to accumulate. Had the penny dropped with Dave and Ash that a product has to look good for someone to buy it??
A club with decent coaching set up, a young up and coming manager, a decent youth set up, nice ground and facilities,a club that buys cheap to develop players to sell for profit, a team with decent players which play attractive football....all good selling points. ( Granted, all these points aren't quite there yet, but heading in right direction)
Bar the obvious league position, I think from where we were as a squad and club on the footballing side of things a year or so ago, I'd rather have what we got now than Deanasaurus and the stuff Wilson and Morgan were churning out.
