Similarly, I thought O'Grady gave our defence options in that when they needed to boot it clear he often won it, held it up, and bought us time. He occupied their centre backs but gave me the impression he will create more than he scores. In essence, the work he did often goes unappreciated and it's something we have not had for a long time as clearances didn't just come back at an unorganised defence.

There will be battles in this division with teams content to stop us playing but if, and I say if, this is a sign of things to come we will need to win the right to play. We did that yesterday and for 20 minutes in the first half we played very well indeed. Second half we basically controlled the game and was more about not losing what we had rather than improving on it.

I don't think our business is done yet. GC has two Triallists in (you know nowt??) but I'd like to think they will be left-sided and possibly a full-back and cover for Evatt as, for me, his position is key and we are short of a monster.

Strangely Paul McGinn was Port Vale bound a few weeks ago after CFC accepted their offer.

However for some reason Vale then pulled out of the deal.
