I would imagine Caldwell is bottom of the league so far of all time town managers concerning win ratio and would also imagine it may take him a few weeks yet to climb off the bottom

Saunders - 37.5% (9 wins in 24)
Cook - 45% (65 wins in 145)
Sheridan - 39.5% (63 wins in 160)

Bring back Saunders

Hindsight is a wonderful thing, but makes you wonder if Wilson had stayed in charge I think we would have stayed up

I seem to remember he was main competitor to Caldwell back when he got the job.

Hindsight reckons he couldn't be any worse.

Competitor or just a random name thrown out by Carson to throw the journalists who try to break the stories first off the scent. Not sure he was ever in the picture really. From what i can remember and was being told Caldwell was the number 1 target the whole time.

It also reinforces my feeling (at the time), that the fans attitude to Saunders was impatient to say the least. Many prejudged him and pounced at the first opportunity. That hasty decision, prompted by fan over-reaction, could well have led to our relegation as well as wasting money. Despite not being in favour of Caldwells attempts to play like a Champions League team with L2 players, I believe a bit of patience this time is the best approach.

2 wins in 22. You can dress it up as much as you like but it is a pathetic statistic. He is paid by the football club to win football matches and has only done so twice, both against opposition in the bottom 4 last season.

He is not the man for the job and I cannot believe people are still behind the guy. Time to go.

Saunders record wasn't even that bad considering. Genuinely think we'd have stayed up a lot more comfortably under him than Wilson.

I'm as disgusted as you are with Caldwells abysmal efforts last season. However, I prefer to consign last season to the dustbin of history and judge him on this season when he's had time to get players in and impose his methods. Now 2 defeats in 2 games is bad, but it isn't enough games on which to judge a season. As someone who really doesn't like Caldwells playing system, and having absolutely slated him for the complete mess he made of last season, I have to say that I think we've looked, in patches, like a potentially decent team in the first two league matches. I've seen enough small glimmers of light to change my season prediction from going straight out of the bottom of L2, to staying up round about lower mid-table. Not an exciting prospect, but ok considering the complete shambles that passes for the overall running of the club.
