I don't think he could believe Hird was beaten to the header (although he was probably fouled).

Goodness gracious - are you suggesting the referee might have made another mistake in this game?

Hird was not beaten to the header , Sam and I think Ugwu were " holding " the 2 attackers with their backs to the goal / incoming ball so didn't react till too late , crap defending

Hird was definitely steam rollered (almost into the back of the net with the ball) by Clarke, who had the advantage of forward momentum, plus of course a bigger weight. Nat Lofthouse would have been proud of him.

And Evo was marking no one.

Best write up yet - and honest. I'm not sure his job is safe as houses. When he gets Bennon back and Rowley - two key players - we can judge him properly. I still have my doubts looking at some of the heavy defeats and mucking around pre-season.

You realise when JBW and Rowley are back, they are very likely to be at least another two first team squad players out injured. It's football.

I think Caldwell needs to start working on a we need this season to consolidate ready for next season speech.

It would be a bit presumptuous..

That's when the £2M spent on transfer fees and £11M on salaries began to have an effect presumably.
