Solid start after our relegation to 3

19 point winning draw

2 games in the weekend has left me almost unable to walk mind

 Got talked into turning out for our 3rd team at 65 years young other week.50 years since I'd played in Bassetlaw League and 25 years since I'd held a bat.The soreness is just starting to wear off.
Many a good tune

Whitt Moor Wanderers were a Sunday League football team late 80s early 90s. Evo wouldn't have got into that side!!!!
He probably played for Whittington Wanderers with there being a Pete Whiteley connection.

I have to point out that I had no part in his joining the club despite me being Chairman. When the registration came through I assumed it was a joke!

Evo did play in the same Warwickshire U16 side as Ian Bell.

It's a magnificent catch but not the best of it's kind I've seen. Some of the two man efforts are incredible. A few years ago this sort of thing simply never happened. Now it's fairly standard.

Was thinking the same...pretty much standard at that level now to be taking these catches. They practice them loads as well including the team work part for the two man catches.

On a separate note we're playing on Queens Park this Saturday....pretty much standard weather for the lead up to it like pretty much every other time i've been on there. Be interesting to see if it copes with this downpour today!

Its good work but it shows how far fielding in cricket has moved on when these are happening on a regular basis now. They practice it loads so they are aware of the boundary and how to keep their balance etc. I still prefer a good diving catch though :-

Somerset had a real go in reply though

Chasing 430 to win they were 405 all out with 2 overs to go and the last wicket was a run out

The guy with the tender for the pork cob wagon at the final is gutted at the finalists.

My dad is going to the final, and was disappointed that England aren't there; I softened the blow by pointing out that the queue to the bar will be much more manageable now.

I once wided the weatherman John Kettley. Christ, he went on about it.
