5 goals in his last 85 outings (facebook post so take lightly)
If true, doesn't inspire, but tbh sir jack wasn't prolific until coming to us.

If him you also have to bear in mind the assists potential. He puts a shift in.

Chris O'Grady it is then....he's on his way down the football ladder and is not a Championship striker now...league 1 at best... its not beyond the realms of possibility he may come here....not prolific but in the handful of times I've seen him he works very hard...he's strong and athletic and would probably find his scoring boots at league 2 level. He will have been made a good offer which won't have any room for manoeuvre I guess. Depends if he wants the chance of regular football or bottom warming on a league 1 bench somewhere. Still lives relatively locally I believe.

Let's be sensible here. We have spent the last two years wanting the get rid of ageing, expensive footballers. O Grady is in that bracket. 5 goals since 2014.

He's 31 and very experienced. I for one would be happy if it was him.

O'Grady would be an excellent signing. Not cheap though I wouldn't have thought which probably should be a concern but isn't my problem.

A better strategy for AC is to say we have signed a player as opposed to we have made offers. Making offers that are rejected reflects poorly on the club.

chris o grady is a quality player , very strong can hold a ball up and in division 2 would be a major asset, not prolific but in that division he could be.

If we heard nothing at all about offers until we did have signings, some people on here would be moaning about that. Damned if they do and Damned if they don't.

Some fans will just never be content. Some want us to sign a gem from non-league, well we have brought in Gozie Ugwu who got 17 goals in a bang average side in the conference.

Some want a proven, football league striker and we are linked with O'Grady who has always played well against us.

If the strikers at the club are Dennis, Ugwu, O'Grady and German come the first game of the season then I will be ecstatic with that.

He does not have to be a prolific scorer himself if he sets up other players to score

I keep harping on about it but it doesn't matter who the striker is, if there is no supply from midfield then they cannot score, we have been weak in midfield for the last two years.

Lee Sinnott, if it is him, may be able to do it but I would still love to see a Dan Archer type of player in the side. For the young one's he was the play maker in the 69/70 promotion side

I think Dan would now be classed as a holding midfielder lol
