and wasn't an "Outsider" ie SC pictured on the top table when the new academy was announced?

I think the trust, and people running it, are totally at the 'beck and call' of the current football club hierarchy.

Other than seeing him looking bored on the two press release photos, I've yet to read a single word regarding SC's involvement in the new venture.

I'd guess (as there has been no mention otherwise) his CJB's still are 'linked' to the trust (not the new venture directly), but you'd have to assume that any of his players have as equal an opportunity as John Smith Jnr from down the road of being accepted in to the venture.

Until its clarified what his position is within the new venture, we'd have to assume his expertise was simply used to investigate and establish the centre, and nothing further.

So this new thingy pretty much revolves around coaching sessions for which parents will be charged - is that about the size of it?

No education programmes, no accommodation, no full-time staff and, other than initial use of the Club's stadium and name, no expense to CFC - right?

Meanwhile those attending aren't arriving via dodgy dealers after being all but promised a contract at Town - yeah?

Well, as long as those coaching fees go into a proper account instead of someone's pocket, it's merely an innocent re-incarnation of what Andy Morris used to run when my lad was young.

As for Steve Coe, Les, I'd suggest he's simply been tugging at Carson's shirt repeating the kinda 'Look at my badges/fifteen years of expertise' stuff he posted on here just so he might get to sit at the end of a table populated by properly qualified people.

I've had a very nice message from Pete W answering my questions on another thread which I had addressed to Ashley. Pete points out that Ashley has nowt to do with owt so can't answer questions, and that there will be completely transparency on any questions, but not via this medium.

In a nutshell, all the proper forecasts have been done, any up front costs (which aren't great) will be borne by the Trust, any cash which does (if ever) build up in the account will be used on Trust initiatives linked to the new enterprise, no cross charging to CFC is envisaged.

'Speakeasy' seems to be one way forward on getting queries answered.
Get it on, bang the gong , get it on

This mirrors what I was told too.

Moderators statement

Over the past two weeks, many of you have enquired either directly on the messageboard or via private message as to the whereabouts of the poster, Freelander2. To date we have remained silent on the subject but feel now is the right time to explain his absence.

On the morning of the 27th April 2017, an unknown individual who was working to instructions paid a visit to Freelander2’s place of work specifically to discuss his contributions on Bob’s Board. During that visit, Freelander2 was left in no doubt that if he did not agree to stop posting on the messageboard and to delete his account by close of business that day, the next visit would be to his home address and involve members of his family.

For those of you who are not aware, over the past fifteen months Freelander2 has been part of a group of supporters who have actively researched a number of subjects relating to Chesterfield Football Club in an attempt to understand the club’s demise. Given Freelander2’s valued contribution on this messageboard over the past eight years, we fail to understand why anyone with a common goal of wanting what is best for the club would want to silence him, especially in this way.

Freelander2 has confirmed his position to us privately and to ensure his and his family’s safety we have sadly agreed to his request to close his account. You will notice however that such closure doesn't mean his postings are removed.

So as not to jeopardise ongoing enquiries we do not intend to make any further comment.

I just wish to point out AC was made aware of the incident nearly two weeks ago and expressed the same sentiments that this behaviour was well out of order.

AC has met Freelander on a number of occasions with others to discuss our concerns about issues at the club, as has been documented on here and I don't recall him ever asking that any of his postings be removed. In fact I don't recall anyone going through the proper channels of reporting his postings. There is no evidence that anyone at the club is involved in this incident.

Hopefully the enquiries end in a prosecution

This is utterly unbelievable.

This is what our Football club has become. I hope F2 has reported this 'visit' to the relevant authorities and it is being suitably investigated.

How sad that it has come to this.

Darren Brown was 'rumoured' to have sent some hired goons out to a couple of Spirezine posters houses back in the day.

Scary for those involved, but frankly, laughable really.

Edit: In a totally unrelated matter, anyone know if DA's 'beef' with Wednesdayite members ever got physical?

Absolutley disgraceful state of affairs-whilst not always agreeing with some of the comments Mike/myself have always picked up the phone to discuss any issues.

As far as I can see if there is nothing to hide then 'a visit' would not have been necessary.

The list of people orchestrating the vist will not be very long -they know who they are so why not come out and say 'not me guv' -until they do all on the list are in the picture

Cant believe our football club has come to this and I hope they make a statement to the press very quickly

Always thought 'mafia' was an overstatement but it appears not

As if they'd act like that. Is AC aware of this at all? Absolutely pathetic and shambolic and reaffirms my position of 'not a penny more'

I'm hoping F2 et al are still conducting their work out of the prying eyes of this message board and the cretins that want to disrupt any emergence of the truth of what is happening.

As if they'd sink as low as rocking up at his work. If that doesn't suggest desperation at wanting to disrupt any investigation then I don't know what does...they must be squirming at Deedah HQ I guess!

I'm sure their is those on here who know exactly who it was. I'd rather they be named and shamed so the wider CFC fan base have an idea just what is going on and who is behind it all

Id like to think so. Surely some kind of law has been broken.

Moondog/Mark - why had the decision been made to release this to the public domain today? Is this because any investigation involving higher powers that F2 may have sought advice from has now been concluded? Or is it not heading in that direction?

Must be a bit of a nightmare for him especially with threats to turn up at the family home. Like the actions of the Italian mafia or something

And yet another reason why I am glad for not renewing my season ticket. If this is the kind of activity that the club now indulges in, I do not want anything to do with them. Bankruptcy/administration has to be the way forward. I would sooner start again from scratch as AFC Wimbledon & AFC Aldershot did and rebuild, then hand over anymore of my hard-earned to those who currently blackening the good name of Chesterfield FC which has existed for 150 years.
