Great to see king Kevin back on the pitch taking the plaudits from the fans, its a pity he isn't 30 odd years younger along with Ernie, we could do with a decent strike force.

Who said owt about 30 years younger!

Another last bump, tickets will be available on the door at £5, however they won't include pie and peas.

The one thing that always comes to the fore is the huge amount of respect everyone has for John Duncan and Kevin Radall. Absolute gentlemen and I think a lot of us don't realise how lucky we were to have them!
And of course many thanks to the organisers!

Great night ! Great memories ! And great characters in attendance to tell what it meant to them:- Duncan, Randall, Dyche, Howard, Jules, Morris, Hewitt - gents to a man the lot of them. Wonderful memories of the greatest day in the clubs history and the matches that preceded it. Thanks to the organisers and especially to Phil Tooley who linked it all superbly.

I read Paul Holland's autobiography. It was dreadful. However, the chapter about his time at Town was interesting in that he described the incredible togetherness and spirit that side had.

Also, though his tactics often bored the pants off me, Duncan always seemed a thoroughly decent chap- didn't he forego a load of cash he was owed when the club was in trouble, post-Brown?

Really enjoyed today. If you decide to do another dinner with guest speaker, like Davies or Lester, I'll have 2 tickets to a Sean Dyche one 🤗

The thing that gets me with Dutch, is he says the right things but undoes it all by never turning out for any of these CFC events that are just down the road for him

Yes Duncan wrote off a fair wedge but was rightly rewarded with a testimonial

A very enjoyable event which brought back many happy memories

As John Howard said today with the ref and lino now miked up there would have been a better chance
of Ellary going over to see what the linesman had to say about it and of course there is now goal line
technology as well

All ifs and buts and maybes though it was just not meant to be to see us in a Wembley FA Cup final

We're lucky to have people who are willing to organise these events, not to mention the former players/management and fans who attend.

We're not "lucky" that's what genuine people, morally correct people with the clubs best interests at heart do. Unfortunately we have the opposite pulling the strings

A few folk with genuine affection for our club donate a degree of time and effort and this is the result.

Well done all.

In total contrast to the one hundred and fiftieth >ahem< 'celebrations' (yeah, I know...) organised by the current crew, of course.

Superb night and superb pie n peas.

Not only were the team of 97' 'tight' (word of the night) they also had their fair amount of skill, and on their day were a real pleasure to watch and would turn anybody over. On top of this (as has been said on nearly every post), they are all a credit to the club and to themselves, with each and everyone of them being perfect gentlemen. It makes me really feel proud and incredibly lucky to have been a part of that special time.

To be fair to Paul he's always walking something of a tightrope with our little yellow neighbours, 'M'.

Remember, these are a small band of folk whose decades of inferiority has created a venomous hatred of all things Town, commemorate rare victories over us in the same way we do the semi final and are only a picture of 'Dutch' at the Proact away from turning upon him.

Indeed the fact someone they still regard as something of a legend enjoyed the best part of his career in the royal blue of Chesterfield is like a sore that can never heal.

PS: better not tell 'em Billy Dearden, the only bloke that's delivered third tier football to them in the last quarter century, sometimes sits near me in the West Stand, either...
