That's it then. Unless we score a gazillion and everyone above us goes kamikaze we're down.

So where does the fault lie ? Principally with one man - the sainted DA. Yes, his employment of Shez and Cookie and the backing they received gave us a fleeting glimpse of memorable footie. But the fact that the club seemingly over-committed itself financially whilst on his watch and the subsequent spiral into utter confusion with the appointment of Mr After Dinner Speaker, Rafflegate and more has left the club in a perilous situation. Cheers Dave.

Mate, we've been down since Christmas.

It seems to have all gone down hill since the moment Cook left the building.

Darth Allen 100% to blame.
- appointed Dean Saunders without an interview, when several other managers were available which could have worked with lower budgets, poorer players should have been looked at , i.e., Hill at Rochdale and Rowett at Burton.
- allowed ridiculous contracts to be given to SEB and Angel, which probably blowed at least 75% of the player budget. Crocks like Herd brought in.
- Wilson appointed and given zero budget to work with. Not backed at all, when realistically he could have attracted decent players to the club.
- Budget cut again, Morsy sold and no attempt to sign Lee Novak, who's goals arguably kept us up single handed (that to me said we were in for a long hard season)
- Wilson given no funds, poor start to season and poor run, not backed.
- Wilson sacked and Caldwell brought in, when other probably better managers available.
- Caldwell worse win percentage than Wilson, but no questions asked.
- Turner finally got rid off, but arguably 3 years too late.
- Subsequent scandals behind the scenes, and certain individuals untouchable. No real indication to sort out the financial side of the club, i.e., the non playing side.

All this together and its no wonder we've gone down.

in a recent programme, he (dave allen) described this season as a car crash, a car crash he has created, the blame is firmly with dave allen, he described also potential buyers as tyre kickers, so seems to like his car analogies, tyre kickers hey looking to buy a car crash, well dave allen when you take the engine out of a car and pull the wheels off, it isn't going to get very far and no one in their right mind will pay stupid amounts for it.

No we haven't been down since then, we aren't even down yet (mathematically) the appt of Caldwell was wrong, we should have kept with Wilson. Turning a few of those poor games at home after xmas would have kept us up with this awful team. The teams that can send us down Monday are the ones we should be sending down

You misunderstand.
3 games left and we don't have the R next to us on a league table.
We have had plenty of games to get this right and we haven't is saying down since xmas is the wrong thing to say

I thought Cookie was supposedly the snake in the grass? Good riddance, apparently.
He was a drunken fool about town, soiling hotel lifts, shooting his mouth off, gambling, attempting to pull anything in a skirt ( allegedly ). Yeah, things are definitely better off with him gone. At least the club figureheads can be trusted to conduct themselves in a more respectable and honourable manner.

I loved PC, the football he played, the atmosphere around the club. Anyone who wished him gone and gloated need to take a long hard look at what we've got now.

You're bang on. Saying we've been down since Xmas is a huge let off to those responsible. It implies there was mowt left to play for. There has been MUCH to play for since then and we've consistently avoided playing for it.

Honestly I'm embarrassed.

Considering this, we've done rather well. Seriously, today's performance should give Caldwell a license to get rid. What about Dennie and Reece Mitchell - two of the most ordinary, inept siginings in the club's recent history - they're on contract unfortunately. We need them out.

I guess you could argue DA has simply made a series of lousy decisions, appointing the wrong people who, in turn, have embraced even more of the wrong people.

But in my view that's happened far, far too often - and is still happening - to be merely poor judgement.

I seem to remember exactly the same kinda stuff when he and Carson were at Hillsborough - fans, sponsors, onlookers, infact pretty much everyone but Allen's small band of cronies left alienated and suspicious.
Never underestimate the stupidity of people

Correct, we'd have been in the mix and probably escaped just like last season, yes the football may have been sterile but we'd have had a chance. Somebody got a little too pre-ccupied with how many season ticket holders were not turning up and decided we needed a change of manager, well I bet there's even less season ticket holders turning up now.

agreed, it was a gamble that didn't pay, a little backing to Wilson in January might have been the better decision, let me say that under Wilson we still might have gone down as we were in and out of the relegation zone but under Caldwell we've just dropped like a stone.

You were right, at Christmas we had every chanve of staying up.

It all came down to the business we did in January. We weakened the squad rather than strengthening it and appointed a manager who looks clueless

The manager has at least one thing going for him, he does not appear to be part of the network.
