Thats why he has been put on a pro contract now rather than wait till the end of the season

The longer the contract the more we can get if the bids come in

And if a transfer fee goes to a tribunal again the longer the contract the more the percieved value he is to us is taken into account

In fact DA might see Rowley as his next golden ticket rather than the expected Ched Evans

Ched isn't worth owt significant based on current form. He is being kept on for next season so let's hope he improves.

At the moment he is just an average League 2 striker, but with fewer injuries and better service he might just score a few.

My biggest hope is Joe comes on in leaps and bounds now and becomes our savior. ( Well I can dream )

If the club look after him he'll bring us a big fee in the future,Good to see Luke Rawson given a 2yr deal with the youngsters, another one to look out for along with CB Lynam. Well done to Mark Smith and his coaching team.

Must have missed this - only saw that Joe Rowley had been given a contract.

As he is looking at the moment in three games two man-of-the-match awards and a match winning goal they'd be idiots to take "anything".

We might just have a player on our hands, he shouldn't be in any hurry to move on, as he will get first team experience here, and we shouldn't be in any hurry to move him on unless there really is big money on the table. Joe seems to have taken men's football in his stride like a certain Kevin Davis did 20 odd years ago.

I've criticised Caldwell many times but, I'll give him his due, he recognised Rowley was ready.

First time I've seen Rowley and I'm well impressed. Took his goal well but the moment that stood out for me was his first half run that showed pace, strength, control and composure.

The boy is a class act
If only....

The stand out moment was his lay off to Rai which started Rai's long run, second half. Perfect control and pace on the ball. His talent is wasted whilst we can't get the ball to his feet often enough. He spent too much time chasing high balls.

A talent you told us about some time go on the back of his reserve appearances I think? Good to have something or somebody to cheer us up at the end of a horrible season, and Joe Rowley certainly does that.
Big mention to Kristian Dennis as well. Doesn't look like a natural athlete but covers an amazing amount of ground chasing other peoples poor passes, and always pops up in the right place when required. I compared him to Eoin Doyle in the past, but whoever it was likened him to a young Robbie Fowler got it spot on.

Thanks dave the coaches at u16s level are quality and really push them to be the best they can and that can only benefit the club long term
Joe deserves all the praises he's getting cos he will have put a lot of time and effort in and sacrificed a lot to be where he is now
Well done joe keep up the good work!!

Young? Dennis is 27.
At which age Fowler had left Liverpool and arguably was on a downward spiral.
