He didn't joke when he was being recorded because a world over burdened with PC loons like you can think telling a joke that involves saying 'give you a slap' equates to bullying or a threat! And that a lie gets halfway around the world before the truth gets it's shoes on.

Retreat to your 'safe space' post haste.

Its shoes. Take more care when insulting folk.

OK...I'm going to be rather controversial now....
A. I'm a girl...
B. I slightly know Mr Moyes...he lived up the road when I lived in Preston and he's actually quite an OK chap
C. Us girls can ask some quite cheeky questions and on more than one occasion in my life...I'm very surprised I have not received a slap or two!!!
D. I'm not part of the PC brigade... life is too short.... :-)

Suprised you haven't had a backlash from do-gooding Liberal apologists on behalf of other people. It wouldn't have been mentioned if the reporter was a male but there are folk out there desparatly trying to find something to be offended about even if they have to twist the truth to find it.

Don't you find, though, that there are actually very few such 'folk', that most people are perfectly sensible regarding political correctness, and that the spectre of the 'PC Brigade' is waaaay larger than it should be for such a small band? Something to do with the way the right wing press portrays people's opinions, mebbe?
These go to eleven.

If I had a pound for every idiot who comes out with the words "liberal apologist/ or libtard or do goodies" I'd probably buy something

I know....but life really is too short and he wouldn't have slapped her....as I say I've had some very lucky escapes in my life....as I'm very outspoken and like to express my opinions and aren't men and women equals....I was always brought up to think that!!!! :-)

If you're criticising people for 'do-gooding then perhaps consider why you don't do enough good yourself.

Dreadfully sorry darling.

I sincerely hope that my faux pas didn't trigger you in any way. As if your safe space wasn't terrifying enough with monsters like Moyes polluting your earhole, now you have to battle other peoples grammatical shortcomings. The world is a cold and dangerous place.

Yes I do in that he was trying to set the tone for future interviews and questions. Lots of managers try to intimidate journalists. Some are much better at it than Moyes. He's just been caught out but it's not a hanging offence. I doubt that the BBC will use her again for Sunderland matches though.

Really!!
Should we not make allowances that the journalist was being a "little cheeky" as a young lady in post 15 alluded too. I use the terms lady and young tentatively because I don't want to be accused of ageism or sexism because a wink and a nod in the wrong place in some peoples world could lead to the firing squad. Anyway if said journo was being a little cheeky (I've not seen the whole recording) wouldn't it be correct for Moyse to respond in a similar banterish manner.
If we still disagree I suppose we'll have to concede one of us isn't very "street wise".

It always struck me with it being a western show they had to use rope rather than string to control the puppets
