We spent £92k according to this report

http://www.bbc.co.uk...otball/39532082

With a poor summer and disastrous January window, it's scary how we still spent so much.

I wonder how much of that was to SELL players, rather than sign them?

We definitely paid Full Contact to sell Gboly.

Part of me recognises this is just modern football, 'SS', the kinda stuff we perhaps should've done following our first promotion at the new place.

But then I'm just sick and tired of folk seeing CFC as an opportunity to make an easy quid, something a growing queue of opportunists appear to've done.

And I can't help thinking it's still going on...

I wouldn't mind if the spending produced results but were amongst the 'top half' of the division in terms of amount spent, yet the results on the pitch tell a different story!

My profession isn't football so my comments may appear ill-informed. Consequently, I'm happy to be corrected by those in the know.

However, I can only see it as agents are middlemen and middlemen always want their cut.

£92K to pay agencies or individuals so they can negotiate a contract on someone's behalf. I can't help but see it as money unnecessarily leached out of the system without necessarily benefiting the player and certainly not benefiting the Club.

Imagine what we could have done with £92k if able to invest it into the playing squad - roughly £1800 per week, which I suspect would go some way to paying for a pretty decent player (or buy some pretty decent racing pigeons).

And that from a Club that once proudly boasted (rightly I say) that it was amongst the few that didn't pay Agents and wouldn't do so!

Yes, I recall that statement, and so it was proved when the list of agents fees paid by clubs came out at time.
Per the AGM, it appears now that our players signing new contracts trigger agents fee costs. Very questionable.

I'd once again ask if those representing CFC in such negotiations receive any kind of payment?

It would t surprise me if the term agents fees has been shortened from " how can we all make more money out of football"

The Proact should be nicknamed "The Nest of Vipers"
Derbyshire is Derbyshire
Yorkshire is Yorkshire

Never the twain shall meet.

See this document here: http://www.thefa.com...blish-2017.ashx

Connor Dimaio - (Player Agent - David Reeves - Revo Sports Management)
Reece Mitchell - (Michael Appiason - Unique Sports Management)
Jon Nolan - (Mark Aspinall - Unique Sports Management)
Paul McGinn

Have we actually paid out £92K in agents' fees signing those players or have I lost the plot?

I'm assuming that the £92k includes agents fees for player sales?

Certainly we paid the agent on the Gboly deal, so assume we may have also paid fees on selling some/all of the following:

Liddle
Oneil
Maybe even setting up the oshea deal?

Ariyibi has an agent apparently representing CFC listed on the transaction - Sammy hints above at our paying agents to move players on, and this has probably contributed to the 92k.
It's nice to be able to Trust again.

AC told me last night we'd spent £200k on agents over the last 18 months

As an aside interesting to see former Spireite Paul Warhurst is an agent alongside former loanee Ian Seddon and Connor Dimaio was Reevsey's only deal

Liddle - No agent represented CFC for his departure.

O'Neil - No details.

O'Shea - No details.

Ariyibi - Mark Aspinall (Unique Sports Management) represented us.

IIRC in one of his rants about where money was going, AC said (either on here or on FB) that he'd had to find the agents fee to sell Gboly to Forest and £25k rings a bell, might be wrong though.

Ollie Banks is the only other player we 'sold' while still under contract during the period, although, nothing listed for him under selling club IM.

Question

Would we pay agents fees for appointing non playing football staff? We've employed 2 managers and at least 2 'coaches' in various roles in that time.
