Whilst Westbars was keen to point out it was a rumour, it is only right to point out that the above posting from the Facebook moderator arose because one of our members on here took up Westbars suggestion to ask AC if the rumour was true.

AC responded very quickly to say it was a lie, adding it was seeking to destroy the club. Whilst I know Westbars well enough to know this wasn't his intention and he was only passing on what he had heard, AC does have a fair point, if untrue, even though I'd say "damaging" would have been a fairer description.

"AC responded very quickly to say it was a lie, adding it was seeking to destroy the club". Oh dear, oh dear..you can almost see the future sound bites from them when the pooh really does it the fan....."it was them thar pesky fans that did it"!

When the club sells less than 2,500 season tickets, the penny will maybe finally drop, that the fans are important after all!?

the people mis running the club for the last couple of years have created a situation where people can find this kind of rumour believable.

No, just that a poster had alleged on here that the club had paid for home improvements for a former employee

This is question 7 which we submitted to AC prior to the fans' forum on 09/11/16:

7) Rent has been charged to the P&L account at £24,500 (2015) and £29,139 (2016). Please confirm if any of the expenditure charged to ‘Rent’ relates to the accommodation block situated at the front of Simply Gym, Sheffield Road, Chesterfield, known as the ‘CFC Village’?

AC's Answer: No. This relates to rent for Pitches / Players Digs. Absolutely no connection with CFC Village

Yet the document received from the office of Howard Freeman prior to the club's AGM confirmed that £24,500 (2015) & £24,000 (2016) charged to CFC 2001's P&L account did actually relate to the CFC Village.

I suppose AC could have called us liars had we stated that CFC were being charged rent relating to the CFC Village, but in reality we would have been correct!

It was simply mentioned to me by a fellow Spireite while passing the time earlier on today. Heaven forbid anything could cause damage to CFC or its reputation - AC's absolutely right to stamp down firmly on anything that could do this.

Perhaps you could check with 'fellow spireite' and ask him where he got the info from.

hes back on the fb page.

Following the same path he did on here.
1. Posts frequently and alls good with everyone wishing him well.
2. A few awkward questions that are parried by revealing snippets of inside info and alls well.
3. A few grumbling asides with the occasional doubter, mild threats to leave the board followed by a "but I don't want to"
4. The questions get more probing and he responds to the more accepting, but the threats to leave become more powerful.
5. "That's it I've done posting", this initial threat only lasts a hour or so before he's back.
6. The retorts get more and more near the knuckle and he's struggling to keep the faith with the ever decreasing faithful, once again he tries to show his "honesty and integrity" and pledges allegiance to the cause but the end game is near.
7. A final attempt to show that he's one of us, the defence becomes more vigorous but equally the attacks become too difficult to parry, final attempts to heel the rifts fall on deaf ears.
8. He leaves that social media platform and disappears, leaving those left shrugging their shoulders and thinking at last..."we've got your number mate" ..and before long we all will have..MATE.
The sycophant face book page is currently at point 5.... BB passed point 8 eons ago?

Can anyone remember what the fan (Mark?) said that got him sued and an apology issued?

Worse still a plethora of denials and assurances from AC have proven inaccurate.

Gotta love the quote about someone 'damaging the Club', though.

I mean, we wouldn't wanna end up relegated and bankrupt, would we...

A mate tells me a suggestion of selling commemorative 150 year celebration coins is receiving fawning praise over in 'Lilley Land', with one contributor gushing 'If we can sell a thousand at a ten pound profit I'm sure the money will come in very handy at the Club!'.

Well ignoring the thought that a proverbial 'nine bob note' might be more appropriate, I wonder who that contributor thinks will buy all this 'going down' currency - James Higgins, perhaps?
