I didn't know anything about this, so as you do I "googled it" and this popped up at the top of the list:

Make of it as you will....

Perhaps you should also google fraud investigation at the Sodje Foundation.

In light of recent National media reports that the Assay office (Ashley's day job) was being investigated in regards to possible money laundering (which I'm sure Ashley had no knowledge of or involvement in), it does appear that his business associates aren't always what you'd perhaps describe as 'legitimate'.
Incidents like the many we've read about, over the last 18 months or so, leave me concerned about Ashley and DA's ability to find a responsible new owner for the club. I would be much more comfortable if the search (if indeed there truly is one) was handed over to a firm with a proven track record in this area.

We are still owed answers as to who introduced Bingham, Alnassar, Fitzgerald to the club. If it was Turner then it raises further questions about why he is due severance that needs the LMA to mediate rather than being shown the door. If it wasn't, then it must have been somebody else.

That would be my guess, which may lead to us failing the audit and risking the funding.

Mr Carson seems to think we will pass the audits...he tweeted this yesterday :-

Delighted to have announced that the @ChesterfieldFC Academy will continue at Cat 3 status. We will pass all audits.

Chris Turner has the right build to be some sort of fat fieldmouse. I bet he's too thick to do that properly as well though.

It seems his Linked In profile isn't exactly accurate. Herrick Associates Sports Consultancy was wound up some time ago and his other "Business Interests" seem to have taken a bit of a nosedive.

He was working for the publishing company who 'won' the contract to produce our Matchday programmes, this time last year (IIRC, it is a few weeks since he was in the spot light!)

Y'mean the one previously done by a Town fan in return for what was essentially a sponsorship deal but is now allegedly costing the Club thousands?

Or have I been given duff info...

Richard Herrick is an interesting one especially as it was rumoured for a good 5 or 6 weeks prior to his arrival that Andy Daykin was coming in.

I believe the same individual who recommended Kevin Fitzgerald has also recommended Herrick.

KF told me Steve Coakley played a big part in getting him the job here. Of course Coakley is big pals with Carson.

Not happened yet, but: Savings can be made on the Academy spend. Yeah, just perhaps someone is allocating other department's expenditure to the Academy.

Perhaps Mark Smith & Ashley Carson could look into appointing some independent trustees...

I should think that is the last thing Carson would want.

What's the odds some of us can guess the outcome of the review of the Academy?

Over the last few years a succession of long term Town people have left the Club.

Alan Walters...Gary Cook...Paul Watts...Ant Haywood...Alan Stevenson...

And now Jim Brown's on the brink of semi-retirement, too.

Yet who've replaced them?

Well alongside the likes of Alnassar, Bingham and Sutcliffe there was the bloke responsible for the 'Rafflegate' scandal that totally eclipsed a questionable pie deal, another commercial manager recently 'released' after only a few months, someone with zero experience as a kit man but who used to work at Carson's Assay Office - and on more money than his predecessor, then now this Richard Herrick geezer has suddenly appeared.

I wonder if we'll discover over the next few weeks there's more to his arrival than immediately meets the eye.

Oh, and just for good measure it's rumoured Dave Allen's son in law receives a salary for performing a role at the Club - though I must state there's no suggestion of any wrongdoing involved.

All I can say is it's a good job Ashley assured us Mark Smith's future is secure and he won't be undermined by anyone with absolutely no qualifications or experience in running a professional academy...

It's not a rumour about Paul Roberts (Allen's son in law) being on the payroll it's a fact (confirmed by AC) as is it can't be explained what he currently does.

It does make you wonder who else is on the payroll that has increased by over 30% (£1.2m) since 2012. AC's only answer as to why has been "general increases"
