You also have to wonder which person failed to query the charges. Let's have a quiz to name all those who might be tempted .....

James Higgins, obviously

Well Chris you speak with Mark most days and good buddies I understand

There is no targeting just cost cutting and you have to agree that needs looking at surely ? 150k loss any business would look at it?

Quite right I won't be taking over the academy but you later comment is nearer the mark but wrong age group, think of a gap ?

My you do you use some big words I'll need to get the dictionary out soon

Do you really have to repeat my name on every single post or is it something you have on a quick key?

I too have been 'digging'.

Look at this from Mark's point of view: an honest, straightforward bloke who simply wants to do the job for which he's eminently qualified. Yet for the last few years he's been repeatedly confronted by the stuff narrated on this thread whilst, and let me make it clear I'm only guessing here, his protests were met by deaf ears. Even when the 'stuff narrated on this thread' directly damaged his increasingly productive academy.

But when all's said and done Mark Smith is just an employee who needs to pay his bills.

Worse still, and for reasons we can only ponder, Carson seems to be targeting so-called losses at the Academy in a way they were apparently tolerated at Sutcliffe's embarrassment. Now that's MS's Achilles heel, being a football man much, much more than a finance one. So when a jumped-up, 'Aren't I important 'cos I run a junior outfit' kinda pretender is allowed licence to shoot holes in Mark's set-up - still only guessing, by the way - the Academy's possibly 'CFCFDS' impacted numbers are made to look vulnerable.

Who could blame Mark for thinking 'Eff it. I've enough friends and respect in the game to easily get another gig, so why should I put-up with this?'.

For all his reported lounge room braggadocio and 'I know something you don't' style posturing on here, Steve Coe won't be taking over the Academy. Far more likely his 'Junior Blues' will merely be allowed some sort of link-up at under sixteen level. However it wouldn't surprise me if Town lost a damn good coach and a damn good man in the not too distant future.

We might lose far more as a result.

Yes it is blessed and one is a very good friend of mine so hence I get feedback

I am not saying close it I am saying let's do something to make it more
Cost effective but people on here think I'm on a bout closing it, very far from the truth

I am thinking of complimenting it ! By the way of other things but until they are finalised I can't confirm them

What day next week is best for you? Crown is best probably and I will have a chat

This is where I'm at.
Your explanations would have to be responses to questions I have about your plans. You, on the other hand, have already stated that nothing will be disclosed for some time yet.

I've done some digging today and I find that the Academy is blessed with a few boys at different age groups who are being carefully watched by big clubs. This in my opinion is clear evidence that the Academy blueprint has a long term future and I don't want to see any outsider, let alone any ignorant Director, mess with it. Your assistance should be directed towards helping Mark Smith to fight for and clarify his cost centre budget and then help him work to it in the face of bullying from above.

CFC has acquired a well earned reputation for dodgy dealings. Any new partner has his work cut out to rise above that and stating that your plans will remain confidential until agreed with Ashley Carson is not the way to proceed.

If only it had all gone out as petty cash, it might have been picked up on.
It's nice to be able to Trust again.

Latest £7,777 (12 individuals owed) I'm told FBT will be sorting it

What's happening with this?

It's about time Ashley Carson stopped f'ing about on Facebook and visited some of the families who are owed money to listen to their horror stories, like we have.

Steve,

Mindful of the allegations which you heard in the Barley Mow, what are your thoughts on the families who are considerably out of pocket? Is it acceptable?

For your eyes only,

How many families are missing off the creditors' list and what is the combined value of monies owed?

I don't know it seems he's no longer communicating with me because he doesnt like the free speech (within reason) moderation on here, hence his implied dig on Facebook that the moderators on that group were reasonable

Perhaps you could get some of those owed money to post on Facebook?

One of the scholars did actually, on the main cfc Facebook page, saying he was owed £1k. He got a massive b******ing and asked to remove it.
Apparently if you're owed money you're not allowed to talk about it, tell anyone about it, or mention it in public.
Protect the ones who are or have been doing you wrong at all times.
Apparently.

It's the first rule of Rip Off Club: don't talk about Rip Off Club.

The third rule of rip off club is, If someone yells stop talking, goes limp, taps out, or pays you back, the rip off is over.

You 'understand' wrong - I've never spoken to Mark Smith in my life.

But as I said, I made quite a number of good friends during my years coaching then following my son in youth football, friends who still keep me pretty well informed.

And they, like me, appreciate the job done by an honest and professional bloke.

Unfortunately words like 'honest' and 'professional' can rarely be used at CFC these days...

On the subject of the Academy, ITSC keeps referring to the 'loss' incurred. Can someone explain to me how an investment in an Academy can make a 'profit'? (I am talking here in the way the figures have been presented to us). Especially when any transfer fees in would presumably be shown as such in the analysis and allocated to Football Income'.

Isn't the Academy an investment for which grants are received from the FA. Grants to partly cover expenditure, not to make a profit on? (Which would presumably be against the terms and conditions of the grant).

I wonder if it suits certain agendas to present the situation in this manner...
