Do We Really Want To Be Associated With This Questionable Enterprise.

"Unfortunately, you were advised that at each stage of deposit the money would be spent on various areas or to various people/companies that were facilitating the trip.
This was clearly outlined in the original brochure, so yes!!! The money was spent and due to parents of other players the trip was postponed, not cancelled due their non-payment of the full balance.
So, to clarify of course the money you paid was spent in good faith. I did agree to refund the full balance of the trip for those parents who's child could not attend but there seems to be a lot of confusion as though parents feel we have done something wrong or haven't calculated this trip properly.
There are quite a number of rumours at the moment but rest assured these will have a stop put on them and very very quickly.
You will receive your refund although I can not manage your expectations by giving you a date that doesn't exist and when I have full confidence in you receiving your refund, I will let you know.
If this isn't sufficient then my suggestion is you escalate this further but as I have advised other parents, it can't go any higher than myself and we are working tirelessly to bring this matter to a close."
It reads to me as
How dare you challenge me with the truth, I've spent your money and you have very little hope of getting it back and then it's only if I feel like it
Reads like a school ground bully
about time he was rumbled

The following text message which we received from an ex member of staff just about sums things up perfectly:
"It shocks me that nobody at the club has ever asked to meet with the members of staff that were messed about once everything started coming out. Especially with one member of staff being a club legend in Sean O'Neill. That for me says everything about the club ATM".

At the AGM tonight Ashley Carson will try to draw a line under Chris Turner's disastrous career as CFC CEO. It would not surprise me if Turner has been instructed to stay away.

So let's be clear.
Turner and Croot sat in front of us at November's fans forum and audibly stated the Club had in no way supported the DS financially.
Carson's repeated that in messages and on here.
We've repeatedly - repeatedly - been told the DS was wholly independent of the Club.
However Chesterfield FC paid the DS wage bill for TWO YEARS, the Club essentially providing what I presume was unsecured credit, and though that money was repaid over time there would've been a debt to the Club on the accounts.
There was also a rather questionable arrangement where the DS supposedly provided tens of thousands of pounds worth of pitch and equipment hire to a football club that surely should've had it's own pitches and equipment.
And of course for some reason CFC received payments when parents, employees and other businesses were left unpaid to the point of pursuing legal action.
My view is that either those denying any direct financial links have a particularly unique definition of what that means, or customers have been lied to time and time again.

The deceit at our once great football club is disgusting.

Is it Howard's job, as Accountant and Auditor (which seems odd to a layman),to question the payments in the forensic detail that you list? An invoice comes in to Sally. She is instructed to process it and record the transaction. Job done.
I actually feel quite sorry for Sally Swain.
She must've been placed in an unenviable position, receiving invoices from the DS where Turner was a director then presumably having payments rubber stamped by that same individual.
The cynical and suspicious might wonder if her recent promotion was designed to keep her somehow 'on-side'.
One other thing, too: if CFC were paying the DS wage bill for two years, you'd guess CFC employees were processing those accounts. Yet another indirect subsidy to a supposedly separate entity.

I'm just going to throw in a little titbit for Ashley.
There may or may not be evidence out there that CFC paid for other items in addition to wages.
Tonight's theme will be 'ok, we lied. Get over it. This is a new start'

Turner and Croot also run the Hub. The Hub's financial arrangements and transactions with CFC have effectively gone unquestioned leading up to the AGM because of chaos elsewhere and I think there is a smokescreen. Perhaps a knowledgeable shareholder could shed some light on this. An audit by Shorts like the one just released on here should be demanded in relation to the Hub (and probably every other trading/income stream).

The biggest cheers needs to go to the ex employee's who provided invaluable information and in some cases really stuck their necks on the line as well.
In some cases they actually received threats.

Then I echo my three cheers for those people too, it can't have been an easy situation for anyone. When does the film get released? A small group of persistent men bring down a mighty empire 😂

keeping CT away tonight was a really poor decision. Talk of transparency cannot be taken seriously. If you can't trust the guy to answer questions then he's clearly not fit for purpose.

Well done guys, a group of guys who would not be swayed and who conducted themselves in a thoroughly upstanding way.
I still think the supporters will be viewed in a spiteful way and a new start is miles away.
Just wonder if we'll keep Caldwell.
