Caldwell does remind me of Andy Murray to a worrying degree.

Clicked on it (desktop) was assaulted by ads I could not close, so closed the browser.
These go to eleven.

I don't get any on that story, oddly. Are you running an add/pop up blocker?

Thanks for the reply. I'm not running one, no. Should I need to, to view the DT website?

I think pop up blockers can be incredibly useful when browsing the internet.

I run a pop up blocker and still occasionally get asked to answer a survey to read DT stories either on a PC or on my iPhone which also has a pop up blocker. I just close the story and dont bother reading it and to be honest it generally has put me off reading DT articles or stuff linked from other local papers under the same umbrella. How anyone can think a story is worth that much messing about is beyond me. I appreciate ads will be needed to make money as folk dont bother buying the paper but they have to be less intrusive.

I'm told if you click 'answer survey' and then opt for 'skip survey' it's a two-click quick solution.

And there's a suggestion if you answer one you don't see another for a month. But I'm yet to verify that myself.

Gary Caldwell is just out to get a result on Saturday at the Proact and then he can focus on making this Chesterfield squad believe they’re can climb the table.

I can still remember when the Derbyshire Times actually employed proper journalists.

I did my work experience for the DT in Chesterfield and then in Matlock....... many, many years ago. The former was a nightmare of unnecessary strictness- "We do NOT lean on chairs here!" - but the latter was indeed when local journos were still trawling around in search of local news.

Maybe so but the sight of them is just enough to think i'm not that bothered about reading the story especially when they take over the screen on your phone!

I'm that old, I can even remember when Mansfield had a team we could consider as serious rivals, not somewhere that is just close we play once every decade or so.

Just watched the video on your CEO on the Sky Women in football subject, selective memory must be a Mansfield trait,no mention of her job in the entertainment industry(cough)when listing her previous jobs.
