My son has just been offered a place at the International Development Academy, but as it is quite a chunk of money every month I've been doing some research. Are things really in that much of a mess/muddle between the club, academy LS and others?

My advice- never pay any money for any 'Academy' system of football.

How old is he?
Get a good college and join a decent non league outfit if he is any good as a player.
Much much more chance of making it as a footballer that way

He could do both if he signs for us

Seriously though, I know I wouldn't touch us 'with our track record' if I'd got the chance to. Seems a rip off to me where ever you go and natural talent if good enough nearly always comes through.

He's 17 and currently at college. That may prove to be the best option, thanks :)

It's a shambolic and discredited organisation that anyone with an ounce of sense wouldn't go near.

Of course!

Would be interesting to know where Sutcliffe got the number from.

If you don't mind me asking, what are the monthly fees?

Also, how was he selected to be part of the International Academy?

This is an academy that's been subject to a number of CCJ's and at least one visit from a court appointed official.

This is an academy that's seen parents approach the press and/or threaten litigation after non payment of refunds for tours that it's possible were never even booked.

This is an academy that's lost a plethora of staff after wages went unpaid.

This is an academy that's website peddled lies regarding players they'd supposedly developed.

This is an academy that handed an official position to someone abruptly ditched when fans exposed his background.

This is an academy that posted debts of nearly eighty thousand pounds in it's last accounts.

This is an academy that's been pretty much disowned by CFC.

This is an academy that's still run by someone accused of deceit by his former fellow director Chris Turner.

This is an academy that's still run by someone accused of lying by Ashley Carson.

This is an academy that's spawned the catalogue of complaints, controversies and scandals featured on this thread.

This is an academy that's appeared in both the local and national media for all the wrong reasons.

So 'are things really in that much of a mess/muddle between the club, academy LS and others'?

Well yeah, I guess that's one way of putting it...
Never underestimate the stupidity of people

Or maybe a mate of Ronaldo's, perhaps also claiming links to Formula One, just happened to be involved...

Well it's good to see that our friends over the road have started 2017 in a similar fashion to 2016!

CCJ registered on 06/01/17 for £9,762 and that's on top of the £12,870 registered on 14/11/16 which remains unpaid.

Were these debts accrued whilst CT was still involved? Beyond a bad joke.

Perhaps Sir Rodney should be approached for comment.
