Time to get rid. Vastly overrated.

That'll be on about 6 games you've seen I take it.

Gboly is a player that if put in a good team who gives him the ball in promising areas he will flourish. We saw that last season often enough. We have a poor team with loads of injuries so he will obviously struggle to do that ATM. His anticipation is his worst trait (bar the obvious like heading, tackling etc) and I don't know if this is something which can be coached or not.

Also very weak mentally. If he doesn't beat the full back in the first ten minutes then you may as well substitute him.

It didn't help against Rochdale that he was completely isolated on the right hand side, Liddle offered no support at all at right back.

I hope somebody comes in with big money next week otherwise we've missed out big style if he goes at the end of season. He is a frustrating player to watch because he fails to reach his full potential with us. With the right coaching and encouragement he could make it big in the future. We as fans expect him to produce a lot more even in our poor side, we all know he can be brilliant on his day but he cant do it on his own.Its always side when you lose good players but we need the cash so lets hope a big club come in for him early doors to give DW a better chance of signing a loan or two.

I'd love to know what offers we turned down in the summer for him.

And if the club had cashed in then, think of all the flak they would have got! Damned if you do, damned if you don't.

The typical one I've heard a few times is from Brentford for between £500k-£750k.

Brentford look like receiving in excess of £10M for Hogan per reports, so hopefully they will have some cash to burn.

Why sell him? The money would go to "service the debt" which would not decrease. And Dw may not be given any of the fee to pay for a new player

I can't see him flourishing in any side. I've seen him time and time again with the ball in a promising position on the touch line with a L1 full back to have a run at but he makes the wrong decision. It's basic stuff, when your strength is your ability to beat a man you have to do it consistently.
He's got poor players around him but he's very often playing with poor players against him and he's simply not doing it.
If he is going to flourish in a good team he's got to anticipate the play. Better players will be a step ahead of where he is now and if he can't anticipate it at this level he's never going to cut it stepping up.

Gboly might have the ability but for me he hasn't got courage or passion, against Rochdale there were several times he could and should have put a foot in but left it dangling like a piece of cotton hanging off his shorts. Dimaio, a player with arguably less ability isn't afraid to get stuck in so why should Gboly get away with not putting a shift in.

It wouldn't have been that bad IMO. He ain't in the same bracket and IMO isn't classed as good a player as what we've sold on.

He would have been one of a line of players we've sold, full stop, nothing to add.

What baffles me is why we kept hold of him instead of selling to Brentford for the reported 800k. Absolutly baffling

So, don't sell him, let him walk away for free in 6 months and service the debt with what exactly??

Big money or not it will be swollowed up in the debt pit - DW won't see a penny of it.

I'm sceptical on all this 800k or whatever talk. We've actually sold players recently and it's been undisclosed yet we have a player we haven't received a penny for but there are sums banded about that we are turning down. If we don't actually know what we've sold a player for, I'm not sure how we know what we may have received in an offer and what we may or may not have turned down.....or not.

I'm with you, I reckon this was just another attempt to try and tempt a club in with a really good offer. We couldn't wait to sell Doyle for the first decent bid and he'd scored twenty plus more goals at this stage of the season than Gboly, so I can't see us turning down a figure of anywhere near that amount for him, he'd simply wouldn't be here now if that was the case imo.
