You can understand it for clubs with a season ticket waiting list.

But I don't understand so many of ours regularly not bothering, If it was me I'd be looking at who they were to try and understand it

There will be several groups of people.

There'll be the very small number who buy them and rarely/never go but purchase them to support the club. I believe there are two East Stand season ticket holders who live in New Zealand.

There will be others who live elsewhere in the UK who buy them knowing they'll make few games personally and perhaps have few links to the area and they can't be passed on to others in their absence.

On top of that there'll be the peculiar sort who is a fan but genuinely isn't bothered if they find something better to do. I was talking to one chap a few months ago who was a lounge ST holder and was completely unaware of a midweek home game the day before.

On top how many of them will be cheap kids STs and/or the over 80s freebies for whom the purchases are no real financial buy in?

AC has confirmed the figure given out by the club includes season ticket no shows and complimentary tickets. I know other clubs do it but for me it's totally wrong as the attendance should be just that. I've asked what the logic is.

I also asked if there is a breakdown per game as it would be interesting to see what matches fans don't bother turning up for. I'm told they have looked at that but there is no real pattern.

Which season did the club start including no shows in the official attendance?

It would be interesting to know what percentage of the no shows are linked to corporate sponsorship packages where season tickets have been bolted on to a sponsorship deal.

Your interpretation is effectively correct. Without DA's loan support, which needs to continue until someone else comes along, CFC is insolvent.

And of course, the question has to be asked, for what reason has the situation been allowed to get to this stage?

I don't think that was ever a fact, just speculation.

In the halcyon days when we got decent crowds and the home areas looked close to being full people expected circa 8000 + away to be announced. It rarely was so one explanation was that they hadn't included no shows and freebees. There were also claims that the club was under reporting gates but that wouldn't make any sense in this day and age.

Since last year the crowds now look smaller than announced and this strengthened the belief that no shows and complementaries were now being included. AC has confirmed this is the case.

Whether they changed the method isn't clear

The gaps in the corporate area recently is frankly shocking. Of course this could be just a case of not sellling them in the first place
