Needing £500k before Christmas is a concern. Knowing it's being asked for by people who have demonstrated they have no idea of managing the purse strings is equally so.

If CT was anything like an honourable person he would resign.

I'm puzzled. Let's assume Allen returns on his white horse to save the day, will he be expecting a galvanised fan base? Because there is definately a feeling among some that he has deliberately engineered this crisis, in 150th year. Angry fans are not very forgiving.
I'd almost favour a new AFC Chesterfield.
So what the heck is Allen playing at? Does he assume that 7000 will turn up, tugging the forelock and being so grateful that all the 3 Sheffield men's actions will be forgiven and forgotten?

Because unless we get 11000 a game, or the players play for nothing, we lose £200k a month

That's the business plan

Or you drop lucky on a Clucas, Darikwa etc

Having only one home game in December doesn't help cash flow. Nor is it the only or real reason.

The timing of all this is very interesting.
The club hold a meeting with fans groups, where they get some tough questions and don't get an easy ride. At the same time talk of protests seem to gather momentum. Previous meetings with fans had been vetoed by Allen (pie pint and a tour of the DV) yet this one goes ahead with his blessing! Was it simply a Reconnaissance exercise to find out what these pesky fans knew, and what the intentions were? Then a board meeting where DA puts a proposal he thinks will be rejected, followed by his walkout speech at the AGM. Then, when the board accept his proposal he then rejects it, citing even more punitive terms. Cementing his grip and side lining any who may still oppose him.
All this happens with a week or so.
Coincidence?

Perhaps AC could confirm what he means by, all the directors to remove their debentures?

OK, just want to make sure I understand this. Debentures are the loans the directors have given CFC yes? So was DA asking them to take their loans back and resign? If so how was he expecting them to be paid back? Or was he expecting them to resign but leave their money here? And now they have resigned are they due their money back straight away?

including the cup game, there are 3 home games between now and Christmas and both Bolton and Bristol Rovers are likely to bring a few fans. What is the real reason? do they need to pay the departed director's loans off?

The meeting was organised to gauge whether Ashley could make a breakthrough with supporters.
By the way, he still has an action point to tell us where CBC is with progress on their investigation into Rafflegate. He intimated that everything was rosy, but no confirmation has yet been forthcoming.

To pay those wonderful wizards of the game who entice us and enthrall us with their football ability.

Ebanks-Blake, Evatt, Evans, Et al ....

Worth every penny

On the fans side maybe. But why did DA have a sudden change of heart and agree to it

When they talk about debentures, this has always referred to the loans to the club that are secured by a charge on the ground. The concern is that "removing their debentures" may have meant removing the charge on the ground, but without the loans being repaid. The charges on the ground could give some protection should there be an attempt to move it's ownership from CFC. Of course, there could be no issue and the club simply wanted to stump up around £2m to repay them.

I'm going to be very bold here - and feel free to shout me down - and say I don't believe any of this. As The Gimp mentioned, the recent chain of events have been too much of a coincidence.
The fact that year after year the club release what can best be described as 'abridged' accounts, means the fans are left none the wiser as to how the club is truly being run.
DA, and his remaining nodding dogs, have got us where they want us - in a state of panic, fretting for the very future of the club. DA is playing this Game of Board Room Chairs for his benefit alone, with the intention of gaining complete control of Chesterfield Football Club. The day that happens is the day we REALLY need to start worrying.

Q&A to be held online apparently.

It didn't state who would be answering.
