Who knows we might be able to help you out when it comes to the inevitable fire sale of your better players.

Allen 'stated a few times it's his desire to get his club into the Championship'. Came a damn sight nearer than Mr Mid Life Crisis, too. Both placed a moratorium on further investment, though; your man 'cos Mansfield folk would rather watch Forest in the pub, ours' 'cos of a CEO who struggles with numbers. It appears.
Evans talks knackers.
And 'plenty of funds'?
Huh, yeah, right...

The new stadium attracted thousands that weren't there in the Saltergate days, and it coincided with one of, if not the best, entertaining sides you've had in recent history, which convinced those new fans to stay on.
Even when you had a mini-disaster under Sheridan's management, it didn't affect attendances much after relegation because there was a promise of investment to bounce back, so fan optimism was high that it would be a successful League 2 campaign.
This time around you'll be relegated and broke, unless a buyer can be found which looks highly unlikely. Do you think a lot of the new breed of supporter who came along with the new stadium are now considered die hards? Or do you think they will disappear from whence they came without any prospect of success on the horizon?
I live in town so remember the huge difference between Saltergate attendances and the new ground. It was also much rarer during the Saltergate era to see kids walking around town in Chesterfield shirts, but there are loads now. So you've certainly done a good job in terms of attracting a new generation of supporters with the combination of the new ground and (at the time) entertaining and successful football.
To paraphrase the political adage: 'It's about results, stupid'.
We win folk turn up; we lose they drift away.
Same with every club, really...unless it's Mansfield Town, of course, who couldn't get many more than three thousand despite a 'dream come true' promotion on the back of a record breaking run.
By the way, as a reasonable poster, do you honestly think Evans is a positive appointment?
We're all aware of his behaviour at Boston - prosecuted and banned as a result. Your small band of fellow Staggies are always calling us over the events of sixteen years ago - so isn't it gross hypocrisy to embrace a character with similar stains on his record?
He then jumped ship from Crawley given the prospect of spending Tony Stewart's millions at Rotherham. The cynical and suspicious might also say he'd spent Crawley up and knew he couldn't work on a budget.
Either way he furthered his reputation as an ugly character, on every level, always adding a needless insult or bombastic jibe. Increasing is collection of touchline bans, too. Until Stewart joined the Crawley supremo by reigning in the finances, at which point Fat Boy conveniently forgot all the sneering taunts he'd aimed at Leeds to takeover there.
Didn't exactly cover himsen' with glory, did he.
And now he's wobbled through the Field Mill door.
Steve Evans has been successful - but only when allowed a regular turnover of players whom he's bullied and cast aside. Allegedly. Will Radford perform a U-turn and re-open the 'One Call' account to fund that? Bearing in mind the historical indifference of the Mansfield public? If so your future may be bright; if not...well, don't be surprised if Evans exits fairly promptly after dragging your name into the gutter alongside his.
