This is simply my suggested - SUGGESTED - version of events so please don't misinterpret what follows as any kind of insult.
I'm also happy to retract and apologise for anything that's mistaken.
But if you really have been having so many sleepless nights, taking so much responsibility, what's the point of a CEO?
Or at least the current CEO.
As for any talk of a 'gang of four', I prefer to view them as local people who helped stabilise CFC in the wake of our last 'near death' episode. Folk who've made a huge financial, and long term emotional commitment to Chesterfield FC.
Is it true they were given some sort of ultimatum which forced them to resign? Infact could it be argued they did so for the benefit of CFC?
In the short term, anyway.
Don't get me wrong, I've had some pretty strong disagreements with them in the past, it's just that I hope there'll be no needless character assassinations.
What does appear certain is that DA, the majority shareholder and creditor, has total control of the Club, now. He did before, of course, however anyone who might've in any way challenged him has now left. A coincidence? Or perhaps a situation that's been planned for quite some time.
I honestly don't know, maybe we'll never know, yet the suspicious and cynical may focus upon recent share movements allied to CBC's mortgage being embraced.
My guess is we'll see a couple or three individuals in your 'mould' become directors in the near future. Individuals whom Dave Allen trusts to run the Club in the manner he dictates. Is that accurate? We'll see.
Let's be clear; all I and every other Chesterfield supporter wants is a stable football club that wins games in a stadium that funds the team. If this week's events facilitate that I guess we can all move forward. As I said at the fans forum the other Wednesday I don't want to be doing this. I don't want to even mention the Chairman, the CEO, the Board or any other behind the scenes stuff.
I just want to talk about football.
The sooner we can do that the better, so please allow me to finish by offering everyone with the Club's best interests at heart my loyalty support.
Chris Snell.
