The three remaining directors of Chesterfield FC will continue to seek a resolution for the future of the club following the resignation of four board members this afternoon.
Following the resignation of majority shareholder Dave Allen as chairman at the club’s AGM on Monday evening, the board have been working all week to agree a suitable resolution.

A proposal was put to the board to provide the necessary cash injection to maintain the running of the club, which included the requirement for the directors to make concessions.

Three agreed to the request and four opposed the plan, with negotiations breaking down at around 2pm today.

Just after 4pm, director & company secretary Ashley Carson received notification that David Jones, Chris Breeze, Philip Taylor and Alan Goodall had resigned from the board.

Ashley Carson, Mike Warner and John Croot remain on the board.

Fair play to Carson for sticking around. If he's in this for us then I'm backing him.

You couldn't make this up! Pantomime season is hear for sure. Whatever DAs plan is will it include a certain CEO? I want to see the club survive and prosper but not with that clown running the show. But who knows anything could happen!!

Are you saying that you DO NOT want to see the Club survive and prosper if CT remains as CEO?

On official website - David Jones, Chris Breeze, Phillip Taylor and Alan Goodall.

The rats are fleeing.

As far as I'm concerned, four decent guys and genuine supporters of the club.

Interesting days....

I'll probably get engaged to death but I'm not convinced Carson is in this for CFC.
He's a Wednesday fan. He's Allens buddy and has been a proxy CEO and eyes and ears for Allen for a while. Unpaid, as well as his day job. He must be a man that likes Allen a lot to put that much time into it.
Oh, and Allen gifted him a huge chunk of CFC shares.

Oh, and that tesco own brand pear cider is really good value.

Perhaps the club could also confirm Mike Warner's position as there are suggestions on social media that he resigned from the board this morning.
