Firstly Cheds aim as a footballer will be higher than Chesterfield.
So if he went to invest it could potentially be sentimental, don't think Massey has any sentiment for the club, as much as Ched is probably grateful that he got back into football here, I think that was more of a Danny decision than a Chesterfield one if you know what I mean. Ched will want higher league football as soon as possible if his pro desire is in place, so will be leaving when the times right. Massey would then be stuck with a club he has no connection to that is loosing money at a rate of knots!
Secondly Chesterfield FC at the moment is not an attractive buy.
It's riddled with alleged corruption, debt and a fractured team.
The only feasible option is an outright buy and cut off the deadwood. All or nothing. Who'd want to buy someone else's mistakes and problems?
I know I wouldn't. I'd want to buy it outright pay the debt back get in that board room and start sacking.

Why don't you ask Bernie Clifton? He's supposed to be some famous rich patron of your club isn't he? I'm sure he'd be delighted to help! He'll make you smile too perhaps?

It wasn't that that he is going to take over the club and pump in £50 million by any chance was it?
