One thing I will comment on, is the 'hired goons' were once again in attendance but it was revealed they were nothing to do with the club, or its officials and were/are hired to protect a fan. (Who's also a member on this board).

Seriously?? What the hell!

The FF did happen, lasted nearly 4 hours and was a frank exchange of views, opinions and feelings between passionate fans and laid some of the foundations for the club to build bridges with the fans.

Details will be released regarding questions, answers and I think attendees in due course so it would be wrong of me to release snippets I feel.

It says a great deal if people were there to protect anyone at what was a relationship building exercise. Have we gone back in time?

What we are all wondering is whether CT 'ran rings' around everyone or just some people.

Knowing how a certain person acts on here and on Facebook (and with his business dealings in the past), I think I can guess who it would be!!!!!

Who was it?

I was in attendance last night as a rep of the Bridge Inn Travel Group. I noticed the 2 guys but I didn't think they were there to protect a fan? More just to oversee things from a distance. They did sit at the back quietly through the whole night to be honest.

It all actually concluded about 10.45 last night and to be honest it would take hours to summarise exactly what was discussed.

But in brief, true challenges were put to them with regards to being far more diligent with whom we do our dealings with, covering the likes of KF, LS where had we done our homework, we would have been a little more cautious. Dean Saunders was also mentioned with doing a "background check" but that was an admitted error, and reiterated was the fact that the 3 teams relegated under him were all "basically" down when he took over.

We have the same playing budget now as we did back in Cook's L1 season - I questioned the recruitment and scouting policy, pointing out that during Cook's time we were able to attract and pick out a much higher calibre of player (Of course with Paul Mitchell at his side), whereas right now that standard has visibly dropped. CT stated that it's Danny's role as manager to use the budget as he see's fit, and has his own network of scouts, and leaves him to it. There is no head of recruitment in place as such at the club.

Our branding will be removed from across the road, and the CFC name will no longer be associated with it - the badges on the clothing, the sign. It's clouded the club's reputation in various ways and we need to see ways that this is changing.

Criticism towards DA's approach of putting money in to the club/"not putting money" in to the club didn't particularly happen - More a case of why our costs seem to be out of control. Many expressed gratitude for the money put in, but highlighted the problem behind it all is WHY is he having to put it in? WHY aren't costs in control? WHY are our costs so high? Questions were put to the board in terms of creative activity/ideas to help reduce costs, and the apparent LACK of it. It seems to the fans that nobody wants to take control and address some of the issues - It's business at the end of the day and we need to act quickly.

DA will not lower the playing budget as a means of cutting costs, understanding that survival in L1 is key.

I hope last night was an eye opener for the hierachy of our club - The fans are clearly more caring with doing background research on people we get involved with (often just through searching credit history's and actually just googling the person's names!) and there are many financially astute supporters who can interrogate any piece of financial data. There was also a genuine call for Complete Disclosure surrounding the controversial issues, and an apology needed to the fans for the instances that have dragged the club's name through the dirt over the last 11 months, as a means of starting fresh.

I've missed a hell of a lot, but those are the immediate things that spring to mind.

I believe we are awaiting a decision from the club as to how/when the details of the evening would be publicised (the audio of the event was recorded by NJ).

Just to confirm, as I don't think its a secret, the 'hired goons' on match days that stand behind DA/CT, who were also in attendance last night, are paid for by and there to protect Les Ashmore.

I can only assume they stand at the back of the stands so they get a view of the immediate area around him, without restricting anyone's view.

A lot was said last night, apologies were made and some commitments made on both sides.

The proof of the pudding is in the eating, as they say.

Why would a fan need "hired goons" at this kind of event? It was very civilised.

Why would a fan need protection?

I know Les comes across as a bit of a plank on here but he's not on his own there and I doubt anyone would wish him any harm.

Madness.
