I said you've never been to the Don Valley or Gillingham.

Said he'd been to Gillingham though.

Mates a Chelsea fan

Messaged at kick off saying

"Front row seats, my worst experience at a football match ever"

Messaged at full time saying

"I'm glad I've made a will"

"I'm never coming here again"

Said it was carnage outside

How old is he? 10?

Alleged reports that there were a number of Millwall there last night " teamed - up " with the Plastic Soviet fans

Make of that what you will but it was widely discussed on the WHU forums yesterday lunchtime that London Bridge was swarming with Millwall / Chelsea together

Maybe BS but cant see Sky /BBC/ Mail etc entertaining the idea it wasn't entirely the fault of West Ham folowers

Seems about as likely as Liverpool claims that it was Chelsea to blame at Hysel

Just seen a guy getting battered by a group

I'm not coming here again

Really? Was he an aggressor? Or just innocent?

West Ham fans came along past Chelsea fans

One guy started mouthing off who wants some etc and a guy took him up on it

Got what he wanted then

Not sure if that guy was Beaten up or the other

It's mayhem, you don't know who's who, just people getting randomly smacked everywhere, no police.

Think he's mid 30s, goes home and away

The cup games attract a different crowd, ticket availability is different.

Confined to a very small area- started when a Chelsea bloke broke through corset and did the usual arms outstretched stupidness. Kicked off there on both sides but soon contained.

Trouble only there if the idiots wanted it.
Perfectly safe for 55,000 others.

Police everywhere in and outside stadium

But tickets readily available as you say- cheap at £20 and for some stupid reason again some given free to Newham residents (which always end up with touts)

There is obviously something not right somewhere....its now pretty much every game there that something is happening. On top of the issues last night which shouldnt be happening and weren't just normal high jinks between fans we also saw an appeal yesterday for help identifying a number of fans after trouble at the West Ham/Middlesbrough game on top of the 4 already arrested after that game :-

http://www.bbc.co.uk...london-37778091

That day Middlesbrough coaches were attacked after the game and by all accounts it wasnt much fun whilst it seems Sunderland fans had issues at the weekend as well with home "fans" causing issues after the game. Last night was always going to be an issue even with the police drafted in and whilst we've had the standard condemnation of the trouble from the clubs not at lot seems to be changing whats happening down there. Whilst a lot of it is down to the idiots that are turning up with no other intention that kicking off there has to be something wrong with the set up for it to be happening so openly and often.

The FA don't seem to be doing a great deal...

I listen to the radio a few weeks ago and they were talking to the new and old stewards at West Ham. Basically, they were saying it was now a clean slate for those that were previously banned for hooliganism, etc; and that they have no idea how to identify/monitor them. Hence, such a vast escalation in trouble.

Its not just "idiots that wanted it" that seem to be getting caught up in it. When you read reports from fans of other clubs who have visited in the league so far outside afterwards they are basically left to fend for themselves as fans merge on exiting the stadium and coaches parked a fair distance away or having to make it to tube stations etc. Anyone and everyone seems to be in the firing line for these planks looking to cause trouble. West Ham have now made the standard statement about folk being banned for life etc but they need to be doing things to stop it happening in the first place instead of sitting as cosy tenants on more than helpful rental terms leaving it to the owners and police to sort.

I've been to every game so far at the Stadium and last night was first trouble I've seen.
Lat night was always going to be a test given it was Chelsea and the trouble they bring.
Previous incidents of Hammers fans not sitting down was of course stupid and to blame the stewards is ridiculous. Of course a steward on £8 an hour is not going to be able to get 3000 fans to sit down.
Those that continue to stand are of course idiots and their selfishness causes problems for those behind (even at Town away games there are those who will not sit down (I remember Derby away and issues around that- Karen Child got involved at one stage with her mates)?

JonB which fans are these this season from other clubs? Haven't seen anything about that at all?
The security around the Olympic Park and Westfield areas are very strict.

Well there is a lengthy thread on the main Sunderland messageboard where numerous fans have said it was pretty bad outside the ground post game. As mentioned previously there are numerous news reports of issues especially about the Middlesbrough game where even the BBC News website yesterday had an appeal for help tracking down people involved and mentioning other arrests. Just because you didnt see it doesnt mean its not happening.

I was in the away end against Watford and it got nasty. You didn't see the 7 or 8 times that stewards had to go into the home end all over the stadium to stop fights, or the two occasions that West Ham fans charged the away fans and started throwing coins and bottles? Going to football since 1998, regularly since around 2003, and that was the worst trouble I've seen. Coming out the stadium there was no real protection either, just a few stewards and couple of police but not in a position to act.

Said it before- if you cannot control the crowd, you cannot have the crowd. Reduce the capacity to 40,000 until this stops, then slowly allow increases. First major trouble it goes back down and starts again. Harsh but they need to do something, and fines are pitiful for the money in the league.

If it had happened at a lower league club there would be talks of sanctions and reduced capacities

You could argue if it had happened at some other Premier League clubs the punishments would be following.

An intriguing comment . Really don't get where you are coming from Jon

Maybe one of the less fashionable in some eyes northern clubs or a club recently promoted. Just with the issues in that game last season against Man U then the ongoing trouble at nearly every home game since this season all the FA have done is say they are talking to people...hardly coming down hard on it all is it.

So by your reckoning Burnley would be punished . ... on all 3 counts
