If this is true it says a hell of a lot about where we are and where we're going.
For all those on here that still believe Dave Allen is a 'successful business man', as opposed to a spiv got lucky, then this should put those beliefs to bed.
An event that was planned many months ago and was likely to attract both club sponsors and high-end spenders would have been a nailed-on event for a chairman to attend, knowing that this iwould be an opportunity to keep a key section of the fans onside.
By failing to make an appearance, Allen has shown the absolute comtempt he has for every one of his paying customers.
This sorry saga is not going to end well.

Good post.

In my view the whole one hundred and fiftieth thing has been handled in a crass, perhaps disinterested manner, those running CFC appearing to offer only lip service to what was an amazing opportunity.

Maybe I'm being overly critical, but the suspicious and cynical might wonder if there wasn't enough in it for them to bother.

Some things transcend money.

I've put it another thread but it sits better here, in addition to Walsall repeated off the field success (20th year of profit out of last 23) Burton Albion turning a profit last season (3rd in four years) incidentally the player sold to QPR was only for a rumoured £350k

Look at Burton's turnover too, at £4.2M it's a fraction of ours.

Think about Burton a lot and what they have achieved. We won at their place 2-0 back in April 2014 to win promotion to league 1. Just over two years later, they're doing great in the Championship, beating teams like Birmingham etc. and we're a mess from top to bottom.

I really think that Burton is a one off and shouldn't cloud our judgement. What I will say, let me say this(to paraphrase Dianne Abbott)if it's true that the chairman has body guards and I mean bodyguards, including people who will eject you from a meeting, then the club needs to take a long look at itself - a community club, family club at this level is disturbing - truly disturbing.

To be fair, he probably didn't want to spend an evening at Chatsworth, looking at his surroundings and thinking to himself 'if only I could buy class'.

Some things transcend money.

Our representatives at this glittering ceremonial anniversary occasion at the home of our Patron exclude our President, 'cos we've not got one; and our Chairman.

I'd love to know how many attendees had complimentary tickets. I feel Ashley and Chris probably deserve them as a thank you from the club.

Can I assume it'll be asked at the AGM whether any CFC staff members (no names needed of course) are on 'commission' for transfer fees received?

Minute one, question one: 'Is it true the Board voted to award Chris Turner a percentage of player sales income backdated to include the Doyle transfer?'.

I believe the answer to that question - if shareholders are given one - will put everything else into context.

On what grounds will it not be answered do you think?

I'd like to know how much is going into DA's & CT's pockets in terms of player percentages, debt interest, wages and other perks.

Ive said it before if it ever gets revealed how much Turner has been on for wages, commissions, bonuses etc since he came to the club for a club our size I think it would make our eyes water.

More to the point, why is a company that's losing money paying bonuses to employees? Shouldn't shareholders be the beneficiaries of such irresponsible largesse.

'Meeting clients in London'? Do they think we just crawled from under a stone? As I mentioned earlier, this should have been the first thing in DA's diary. Moondog, your friend Ashley and the dynamic duo are an absolute joke and think each and every one of us is beneath them.
