Allestree don't have proper covers either. Could play into your hands.

I wasnt sure if Allestree had covers or not...i thought they did but seems i was wrong. Meadows do but both grounds dont deal with heavy rain very well so who knows. Forecast could be way off as well and it'll be fine and cause no issues. Personally i'll be down in Shropshire at a friends pub at their first anniversary of taking over party so potentially in no state to really care about whats happening! ;)

They've got some sheeting but haven't got proper covers. Be interesting to see how they hold up to a proper downpour

They tend to go on the wicket to stop it getting wet when it rains ;)

So do we. A good win tomorrow and we should wrap up promotion next week. We've got plenty available tomorrow so my offer to play has thankfully been not required. Might go up and score to get some beer money!

Well it is. There are even sides named after fags in the league now.

You!

We'd give it a go if we did. Young lads are progressing well and would be up for the challenge.

What a shock. Fine week and then Saturday comes and it's raining.

If you've got covers put them over the "pitch" not the "wicket" as appears to happen in Bunkum leagues

Aren't the words 'pitch' and 'wicket' used to describe the same thing?

Shouldn't be. Wickets are made (generally) of ash, pitches, depending where you are could be anything from high grade loam to coal shale

Whilst you may be technically correct, it's common parlance, in my experience, for cricket people to refer to the pitch as the 'wicket'.

If using the correct name for a pitch inspires such input such as "parlence" then surely that enhances the credibility of this board and could alienate interlopers

How can Chesterfield not put a second team out? How many registered players do they have?

Worse still, the thirds played in the YDCL. Work that one out.

They only had 9 turn up initially against us last week. Only fielded 11 due to us not starting til 4pm and two came from their 3rds after it was called off.

Something has to be rotten at the club.
