Yes the team was doing ok 'til he started interfering, by making unnecessary subs

Didn't Liverpool make stronger subs in second half

I seem to remember that when Souness brought on the Russian (?) sub he ran rings around everybody and changed the game completely.
Life goes on. Whatever happens.

'Two assists against a side that was closer to his level of talent' how un Liverpool like to have their head jammed that far up their own backside.

Istvan Kozma - terrorised Cliff Carr he did!

McMenemy's side was woeful - worst league position I can remember (lower bottom half of the basement)

And Rushbury was completely clueless, a complete joke of a manager - I went to every game he managed us and you never expected a positive result (with Saunders at least there was the small hope we might get a decent result, small hope!)

Both worse managers than Saunders - despite budgets, expectations and whatever

If I remember correctly, in both Lee Richardson's seasons in charge we finished not that far off the play offs. Believe you me, there have been many Chesterfield Managers with very much worse records than that!

indeed

One of the few managers in recent times not to be sacked, either.

He very nearly got a managers job in the Prem afterwards, too so couldn't have been that bad!

Don't be so precious. I'm sure as soon as something happens you will know.

I always got the sense of underachievement with Rico though. Like that last play off place was always there for the taking but we never got it.

This is what he's up to now:

I'd expect him to appear on the England scene, now Big Sam has got the gig, too.

You've not been here long enough to make demands like that, every thread that starts runs of on a tangent eventually!

And a consultant with Lancashire County Cricket Club for the past five years. He was with the team at the recent Royal London One-Day match at Derby.
